A common character type in anime and manga, these are characters who will burst into tears at the drop of a hat and tend to be insecure and whiny. In anime they can be children but are often teens and adults for comedic purposes.

Maids and Butlers are highly popular within anime and manga. They can simply be a job, or they can be a lifestyle for loyal servants to a master or mistress. Identified by a particular uniform. Also popular in cosplay.

A group gathering or activities that occurs after school is over.

A tradition seen in Japan every year in their school system. The students set up booths for activities or food stands.

A person who sings as a profession.

Snaggletooth

A common theme in character designs when a character has one tooth that hangs out like a fang. Typically used to show a sassy or rough personality.

Students

A Student is one who is enrolled or attends classes at a school, college, or university. A popular theme among many manga and animes.

Tan Lines

Visible marks on the body that indicate where clothing was worn while the wearer was out in the sun.

Unrequited love

A passion or romance for a person where these feelings are not returned by the object of affection. A one-sided love.
