Plot Summary

The Fairy Tail gang are down in the dumps while the other guilds are biding their time for the tournament. By the beach, a pigeon perches on Erza's head. Her gang finds a message that tells them to head for a suspension bridge to meet the person. By the bridge, Erza's gang finds the bridge get fix by magic right in front of them. Gray slaps Natsu and pushes him onto the wobbling bridge. Natsu tries to not to throw up and jumps across to the other side. A trio of blue hooded mages reveal themselves. They are Jellal, Meldy, and Ultear. Juvia looks at Meldy who is all grown up to a beautiful girl who smiles. Jellal explains that his memory return to himself six years ago, and Ultear confess that she manipulated Jellal during the Tower of Heaven incident. He tells Wendy that she met a different person. Ultear informs them that they are an independent guild called Crime Sorciere. When Gray brings up that they can be an official guild, Jellal reminds him of the prison break and that Ultear and Meldy are former Grimoire Heart members. Jellal asks them to investigate the Grand Magic Games since there is a mysterious magic that could be Zeref's doing. Ultear reveals her new Time Ark ability, Power Up. She explains that everyone has latent magic called Second Origin which she can bring out using her magic.

Afterwards, everyone looks at Natsu who is in great pain. When Gray and Lucy wonder how it feels, Meldy asks the two if they want to feel it using her Sensory magic. Wendy and Levy are scared while Droy and Jet walk away. When Charle mentions that Erza is with Jellal, Juvia takes Gray to spy on Erza. By the cliff, Jellal tells Erza that he is ready to lay down his life to atone for Simon's death. Erza states that Simon would not want that. When Jellal talks nonsense, Erza slaps Jellal and tells him to live. When Erza picks up Jellal, the two fall over and down the slope. Jellal finds himself on top of Erza while golden pollen rains down on them. The two speak softly as they gaze upon each other's eyes. Erza sheds some tears, and she grabs Jellal's face. Jellal gently caresses Erza's cheek. When the two's lips approach closely, Jellal pushes Erza away and explains that he has a fiancée. Erza congratulates Jellal.

Meanwhile, everyone is feeling the pain except for Erza and the Exceeds. Jellal and his guild bid farewell to Erza. In a cave, Meredy asks Jellal why he lied to Erza, and Jellal states that he is atoning. By the beach, Erza notices Happy drawing a broken heart on the sand, and she kicks Happy for teasing her.
