Junji Ito is a horror manga writer. He is known for the titles Uzumaki, Tomie, Gyo, and many more.

Junji Ito was born in 1963. Since he was young, Ito has been inspired to draw, first by his older sister and then by Kazuo Umezu, the manga artist who made him interested in drawing horror manga.

Much of his work was adapted into live action movies; at present, almost 20 movies based on his work have been produced. Recently, Ufotable announced they have plans to adapt "Gyo" into an OVA series.
