1960- . Born in Aichi Prefecture, he studied film at the Fine Arts department of Nippon University, but dropped out to join Toei Animation in 1981. His animation debut was on the series Tenmaru the Little Tengu (1983), but he is perhaps best known for his directorial work on Sailor Moon. Sometimes works under the pseudonyms Hajime Tendo or Kiichi Hadame. He is also the creator of more recent shows, such as Kaleido Star and Pretear.
