What is the meaning of Johan keep on pointing at his forehead?

I watched Monster and when every time Johan confronts Tenma or his sister, he just point at his forehead. On the top of that, in one episode, when a criminal asks who to kill next, Johan points at his forehead.

He was shot in the head as a boy and saved by tenma. That what was started him down the path of "evil" i believe that might have something to do with it.

Yeap this is pretty much it.

I would clarify though, getting shot had nothing to do with his behavior.  He was already like that well before then, in fact he is the one who killed his adoptive parents which is why his sister shot him in the first place.  I like this show because the drama basically stems from the fact that Tenma did what was morally right despite his bosses orders and not only does it screw him over, cost him his marriage, but it also lets a rampaging serial killer loose on the world.

Wait, but he was shot in the head after murdering his adopted family... I think he was quite a ways down that road before the bullet got there.

I would say that the entire evil thing stemmed from when they were children. There was a lot of confusion between the two, and when the mother (who probably thought Anna was Johan, considering the fact that the two of them were dressed the same) gave up Anna to Klaus Poppe for that experiment. I would also think about that book,"The Nameless Monster" or "The Monster with No Name"... considering how it gives you clues to what kind of "roots" he came from. I would say that he became "evil" when he took in Anna's experience at the Rose Mansion. Also, it had grown worse when he shot the parents, began to see the "End of The World" or "Doomsday", and when he was shot in the head and "revived" at the hospital. ^^

I think it's a mockery gesture. Because he puts himslef in constant life-or-death situation and comes out alive. He wants to see if people will shoot him so he tempts them, giving them a clear shot.

I know this is an old post, but I just found this. His pointing to his head is also a nod the Book of Revelations, because Johan runs parallel to the anti-christ figure and there are a lot of revelations allusions. ("And I saw a beast rise up out of the sea...") In this case, Johan, like the Beast from Revelations, was resurrected after being pierced in the head and was mistaken for a monster with several heads.
