Ixion Saga DT

Overview

A parody/fantasy story and a tie in of the online game Ixion Saga that was produced by CAPCOM. The anime adaptation was produced by Brains Base and directed by Shinji Takamatsu. Two different manga adaptations and one light novel adaptation have also been planned for this franchise.

Plot

Ixion Saga DT ("Dimensional Transfer") starts with Kon Hokaze who is playing a fantasy MMORPG and has bad luck, until he meets a sexy female character online. He thinks that he's finally lucked out and found a girlfriend, but suddenly he gets transported to an alternate world called Mira and accidentally saves a princess from attackers by landing on their lieutenant with his swivel chair. Having no idea how he arrived or how to get back, Kon ends up serving as one of the Princess's bodyguards until he can find a way back to his own world.

Characters

• Kon Hokaze -- The protagonist of the story, an awkward game-playing otaku who somehow gets transported into Mira after accepting a request from a female character. He manages to win the "Alma Gear" sword after defeating Erecpyle in the first episode. Is a "Hyperion" and can naturally control Alma energy. Nicknamed "DT" by mistake (in Japanese, "DT" can refer to doutei or Japanese slang for a virgin male).
• Ecarlate -- The 36th Princess of St. Piria with a bad attitude who has been sent in a political marriage to the capital. Like others in her family, Ecarlate can occasionally enter "hyperactive mode" as a function of her adolescence, signified by hairs sticking straight up on her head (ahoge). When three ahoge appear, she gains superhuman strength and speed.
• Erecpyle Dukakis -- The leader of a militant faction of the empire who wishes to kidnap the princess for his own purposes. A strong warrior in his own right and a "Hyperion," but ends up getting his testicles kicked in by Kon so hard a doctor is forced to remove them early on in the series, leading him to swear vengeance upon "DT" ("ED" can also be read as "Erectile Dysfunction").
• Sainglain -- A strong, battle-scarred swordsman who guards the princess. Also happens to be incredibly smart, graduating from university at the top of his class with a degree in engineering and architecture design.
• Mariandale -- A transsexual maid who wields a pair of pistols and also guards the princess. Her true past is unknown.
• Almaflora -- The mysterious lady who is somehow responsible for Kon's appearance in the game world. She is an "Ixion" and has the ability to forge Alma Gear weapons.
• Variation -- One of Erecpyle's subordinates who accidentally got crushed by Kon's swivel chair.
• KT -- Another of Erecpyle's subordinates who might be a woman in disguise ("KT" can be read as kintama or "testicles" in Japanese).
• Gustave -- Another of Erecpyle's subordinates. Loves going to hostess clubs after his wife left him for another man.
• Leon -- Yet another one of Erecpyle's subordinates and a possible masochist.
• Pet -- A flying squirrel-like creature who tags along with the party after secretly being sent by Almaflora. Wears a tiny helmet and scarf.
