A phrase used to describe a situation where someone mistakes a man/transsexual for an attractive woman. Not to be confused with "Crossplay" even though this can be said in that situation.
In the last couple of years particularly their has been a boom much like that of "moe," in the industry for girlish boys. Coming to be known in Japan as 男の娘 / otoko no ko. This pun or wordplay on the Japanese word for boy literally meaning "man child." But the the character for child is substituted for the word for "girl" which can be read as Ko. Despite the broken translation to English except being referred to as "Traps," their is no overlap between this and Japan's already established, "newhalf." Or futanari fetish genres. So this wont turn you into a diehard shota fan, but manliness across the globe is now being questioned.
