Ishval is located in the Southeastern portion of Amestris. Many of it's people were killed during the Ishval Civil War.
THE REASON FOR THE GENOCIDE
The genocide was done to form one of the points of the pentagon that is part of the transmutation circle for the philosopher stone.It was therefore of the " blood crest".
The purpose of the stone was to give Father enough power to open the Gate of Truth .
