Overview

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? (Is This a Zombie?) is a franchise that is originally a light novel series, and it was created by writer Shinichi Kimura and illustrators Kobuichi and Muririn. The series spawn multiple adaptations: two manga series, two anime series, and two OVA series. The manga is produced by Fujimi Shobo. For the anime, both seasons are produced by Studio Deen and directed by Takaomi Kanasaki.

For audiences outside of Japan, the first anime series used to be available on Crunchyroll until Funimation bought rights to the anime. Now, it's stream legally on Funimation's site.

Plot

It revolves around an ordinary high school boy named Ayumu who meets Eucliwood at the convenience store. Smitten by Eucliwood, Ayumu tries to impress and become friends with her only to be rejected. Moments later, Ayumu gets killed by a serial murderer who has been wreaking havoc. Then, Eucliwood resurrects Ayumu as a zombie due to her necromancer's powers. As a thank you, Ayumu has Eucliwood live with him and serves her while he seeks out his murderer and goes to school. His life becomes more complicated when two girls arrive and live with him. The second girl is Haruna, a gifted Masou Shoujo who fights Megalos. Due to some accident, Ayumu has absorbed her powers and has to resume Haruna's duties in slaying Megalos. The third girl is Seraphim who is a busty vampire ninja. After Ayumu defeats Seraphim in a match, Seraphim lives at Ayumu's house as a result.

Ayumu's normal life is now forever changed as he uncovers more of Eucliwood's past and gets involved when the King of Night and Chris threatens to harm them.
