One of the four-part project with Marvel Animation and Madhouse. Based off the popular Marvel Superhero comic book character, Iron Man is the story of private weapons developer Tony Stark. A cruel twist of fate leaves the brilliant youth the victim of his own creation.
Iron Man is the story of private weapons developer Tony Stark. A cruel twist of fate leaves the brilliant youth the victim of his own creation. Gravely injured, he is presented with the option to be murdered by his extremist captors, or create an incredibly powerful weapon for them. The unfortunate twist is that Tony was left crippled and dying, as shrapnel from the blast slowly seeps into his heart.
 
To escape from this situation he develops an advanced robotics suit, but uses it himself to escape. Dubbed Iron Man, the suit itself originated as a life support unit to ensure his heart continued functioning properly.
