VIZ's romantic comedy Inubaka: Crazy for Dogs, created by Yukiya Sakuragi, is reportedly getting a live-action film adaptation in Japan. The manga revolves around a girl named Suguri, a simple girl from the countryside who moves to Tokyo, the Big City, where she remains all alone with no one for company besides her loyal dog Lupin...until all the other dogs come.
Lupin, you see, mates with another dog, a purebred, whose unhappy owner Teppei had planned to breed for another littler of purebred pups. Suguri offers to work at Teppei's pet shop to help out with the pending puppies. Cue wacky canine (and human) antics.
Not many details about the film have been released, like a release date (they're aiming at fall), but we do know that talento Suzanne, formerly of the Nakano Fujoshi Sisters, will be playing Suguri.
Now, if “Inubaka” means “crazy for dogs” (or more literally “dumb for dogs”), I gotta ask: how many of you guys are Inubaka-baka?
