Creation

MIchelle Lobster is created by Hiro Mashima who has no information regarding any inspiration used to create her. She is an anime exclusive character who first appears in Fairy Tail volume 128. Her Japanese voice actress is Yukana Nogami.

Unlike Lucy, Michelle dresses like an upper class woman similar to Layla Heartfilia's sense of fashion. She wears a pink and white themed dress with a pink bonnet that has a blue corsage on the left and little red shoes. Furthermore, the top of her dress has a lighter shade of pink while the area below her waist is another layer that has a darker shade of pink. For her facial looks, she has blue eyes, dark, wavy blonde hair, and fair skin like Lucy.

Personality

Michelle is a cheerful woman who smiles quite often. She is compassionate when she wants to get job in order to support Lucy who gave her a home. She is a clumsy girl who cries easily and has a big appetite. Lucy notices that Michelle's personality made everyone want to protect her. According to Happy, she and Lucy share the trait of being noisy. Michelle is no pushover as she attempts to protect Lucy from the boss of bandits.

Lucy's Vow to Michelle

• Lucy Heartphilia- Michelle and Lucy quickly become close as they support each other. Lucy vows to protect Michelle, allows Michelle to live with her to avoid letting Michelle to live by herself, and to solve the riddle behind Jude's memento for Michelle's sake. For Michelle, she works with Lucy in their chores at Fairy Tail guild in return for living at Lucy's home. To a certain extent, Michelle go out to protect Lucy in their mission to catch bandits.
• Plue - Michelle seems to like Plue, and Plue likes her, too. There is a scene where Plue pets her when Michelle sleeps. Please see image's link.

Story Arcs

Michelle cries easily

Arriving by train, Michelle walks over to the Fairy Tail guild where Romeo leads her to Lucy. She introduces herself to Lucy who does not even know her. Immediately, Michelle cries. Then, Michelle shocks Lucy and her friends when she called Lucy, "Nee-san." She mentions that her family and the Heartfilia family are distant relatives to correct Happy's misunderstanding of Lucy's father having an illegitimate daughter. Michelle starts to cry more until Lucy asks her about the case she is carrying. She tries to embrace Lucy, but Michelle drops the case on her toe. Moments later, Michelle informs Lucy that her father's memento is in this case and that he instructed her to bring to Lucy. She explains to Lucy that her father also instructed her to search for Lucy during the 7 year gap. Natsu tells them to open the case. Inside the case, Lucy and the others find a bandaged object. Charla seems to be afraid of it as they unwrap the mysterious key-like object. Michelle tells everyone that she hasn't eaten in three days. By the river, Michelle follows Lucy to her house while carrying Plue in her arms, and Lucy tells her how much she loves her guild. Michelle compliments Lucy and states that Jude would be proud of her. In Lucy's house, Michelle gazes at the photos of Jude and Layla and then, she reads Lucy's latest script for a novel. When Lucy comes back, she finds Michelle crying about Iris. Moments later, Michelle expresses her envy for Lucy who has big dreams while she has none. Lucy decides to let Michelle stay here, and Michelle thinks about the jobs she could take, so she can help pay the rent. Michelle starts crying again, and Lucy tells her to get a job here at Fairy Tail guild. A montage of Michelle helping her guild is shown while Lucy narrates. Lucy comments that there is something about Michelle that makes people want to protect her.

Michelle learning how Lucy gets things done

With the montage over, Natsu calls Lucy for a job to catch some bandits, and Michelle gets excited because she wants to see Lucy in action. Even though Lucy doesn't want Michelle to be there, Makarov and the others insist that she brings Michelle with her, Gray does not mind, and Erza reasons that Michelle will get experience. She explains that this would be similar to how Lucy gained experience in that S-class mission. Lucy vows to protect Michelle as the gang head out for their mission. Elsewhere in Fiore, Michelle eats while Gray goes over the mission, and Erza arrives with a cart and plan. When Erza proposes to have Lucy and herself as decoys while Gray and Natsu attack the bandits from the cargo side, Natsu refuses to ride in the cart. Michelle volunteers to become decoy. As Lucy and Michelle drive the cart to the bandits' blockade, Lucy immediately executes Erza's plan by revealing her sexy, curvaceous body in a bikini. To Lucy's dismay, the bandits are not aroused, and they head to rob the cargo only to see Gray. Gray and Erza take of the bandits while Lucy fights the boss of the bandits who acts like strange as well. When Lucy could not use her whip, Michelle uses the boar to fend off the boss. From the sky, Natsu defeats the boss. With the mission over, Lucy and Michelle have lunch in Magnolia where Michelle proposes to Lucy in requesting Fairy Tail guild to solve the mystery behind Jude's memento. When Michelle trips and the memento falls on the ground, the memento begins to levitate with runes/ or mysterious characters revealing on the object. Despite that Makarov wants Lucy to give up on the request, Lucy vows to solve the riddle for Michelle's sake.
