Origin
Ikaruga is an assassin whose team is hired by Jellal during the Tower of Heaven story arc. Ikaruga's teammates are Fukuro, an owl man, and Vidaldus, a punk rock Kiss look-alike. According to Simon, her team is well known for killing the officers of the western army (manga). Ikaruga and her comrades agree to play Jellal's game and fight Jellal's enemies.

Tower of Heaven Arc
Ikaruga confronts Shou and Erza on a bridge with the beautiful cherry blossoms falling. She walks with grace like a geisha woman. Shou who holds Erza in his card desperately attacks Ikaruga to prove he is strong. However, Ikaruga easily defeats Shou and his card magic. With Ikaruga's help, Erza cuts through the spatial divide and frees herself. The two warriors are going to fight head on. Ikaruga rips and destroys Erza's armor one by one. Final Clash
thinks she can cut her regardless. Erza and Ikaruga have their final clash that results in Erza wounded and one sword shattered and Ikaruga wounded and defeated. Ikaruga shares her poem and tells Erza that she and Jellal will meet their doom/ justice from the shining Etherion. Her fate is unknown when the Etherion destroyed the Tower of Heaven in the manga but in the anime she is seen with Fukuro and Vidaldus escaping the tower.
Anime and Manga Differences
In the anime, Erza actually attacks with her purgatory armor compared to the manga, Ikaruga quickly destroys it before Erza uses its powers. Ikaruga's is alive in the anime, but her death is ambiguous in the manga.
Censorships: A frequent thing that the manga has is the blood shedding that the anime does not have. Ikaruga inflicts devastating blows on Shou and Erza.
