Yoh is in the hospital and the person who brought him there is Ryu. Amidamaru is at Yoh's side blaming himself for not being strong, and Manta speaks Ryu and gang about what happen during Yoh's fight. After that, Ryu departs remembering he saws two ghosts (blurry) and Yoh awakens with Manta and Amidamaru at his side.

Flashback of Yoh's past explains why Yoh wanted to become a Shaman King. Meanwhile, Ren is talking with his father who wants Ren to defeat Yoh no matter what. Then Yoh and Amidamaru senses Ren's presence. Now, Yoh and Ren with their partner spirits fight again.

The fight has ended with Yoh delivering "Amidamaru Halo Blade" attack on Ren. (breaks Ren's spear) Both Yoh and Ren collapses. The episodes ends with Manta narrating at a hospital and Anna makes a brief appearance.

Points of Interest

Anime and Manga Differences

• In the manga, Yoh and Ren fought each other in the streets immediately after they met each other.
• In the anime, Yoh and Ren fought two times in the Cemetery. Yoh lost to Ren the first time and Yoh beats Ren in this episode. Also in the anime, Ryu drops Yoh at the hospital after Yoh is defeated by Ren and the manga did not have this scene.
• Yoh's 100% Possesion (anime)/ 100% integration (manga) attack is Amidamaru Halo Blade (English Anime) and Buddha-Giri (English manga). The reasons were probably avoiding religious references.
