@Destinyheroknight: Ohh "in a world over run with super heroes"... an im hooked! will look into this one. Thanks for the head nod tword that one .it looks like someting i may well enjoy alot.wish Girls of the Wild's would get a english print run an or anime. If your gona dream might as well dream big right?

Fairy Tail tho shonen is more soap opera / comedy . Medaka Box drerw in more to its story than Toriko. History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi did as well.So i do like silly fighting anime as much as the next guy .I just wish HxH got more attention then it gets now.

I just want to commend everyone on having a good discussion here in the thread. I also want to throw in my two cents on the matter:

1. When you consider the layout, characters and aim of a show like One Piece or Naruto, you have characters that are instantly marketable, and every attempt is made for their abilities to be as "toyetic" as possible. A show like HxH has (in my mind) some of the most generic designs I've seen for main characters and supporting ones (which hurts its cosplay appeal) even though their stories and actions are faaaar more memorable than other shonen fare. For reference on toyetic, watch Freakazoid:

2. I think the hiatus that everyone is harping on definitely would hurt a show as far as "fan hotness" When you get people following something consistent, they tend to be more rabid. That, or you have to have such a revelatory show it stays with people. HxH is the definition of a sleeper hit. A show that people slowly, but surely, find. A way to capitalize on this type of show is release a big feature or OVA at the end of the main TV redux, then package the shows up, release new merch, and hopefully capture and surprise people that might not have heard of it yet.

God, I love Hunter x Hunter.

The real problem is that Togashi hasn't put out any material in like a year (which was Kurapica backstory stuff related to the Phantom Rouge movie), and there's about 100 chapters of the Chimera Ant arc left to animate, plus a shorter 20 chapter arc that kinda works as a CA arc epilogue, but then there's 1 new chapter of the next arc and that's been it for like 2 years (not counting backstory stuff). Which means the anime is running out of material, and the longer it takes Togashi to start back up the harder it is for him to keep ahead of the anime for it to continue, especially when they're using 2-3 chapters an episode. If I had to guess, there's a perfect stopping point at the end of the next arc, it would be a strong, emotional place to end. Then they can continue if Togashi from there ever gets back to work.

I disagree and agree with you about One Piece, the reason it so marketable, is because Oda is just using all his ideas when he was an child. And also I find both HxH and One Piece equaling as memorable

Ahh geez, that sounds like hell. I thought this arc was drawing to a close but there's that much of it left?

Anyways, I hope they don't end the series after this. A lot of people hate fillers on principle but I'm generally ok with them as long as they are good. Like most superhero comics, the person that wrote the first issue is rarely the only person to ever write a good issue of the series and I think that can apply to anime. I totally wouldn't mind seeing them FMA this if the mangaka can't get his act together, especially since I don't read the manga and wouldn't know a difference as long as it didn't suck. Madhouse has made some great original content so it's not like they are incapable of putting good writers and creators on a project.

CA arc is HUGE. It's about 130 chapters out of the current 340, so yeah it makes up a huge chunk of the overall series. Episode 95 covered 221 to 223 and the CA arc ends at I think 319 or so. Some of the best stuff is still on the way. Plus more Knuckle and Morel stuff, my 2 favorite HxH characters, both in this arc and the overall series.

What really makes it worse was that this series started in 1998, but only has 340 chapters, and the CA arc started in like 2003 and was finished in like 2011. That arc, which would have normally taken 3 years, took almost 10.

And I don't trust anyone other than Togashi with this series. It's hard to explain, but I feel like there's too much of him in this series for someone to really emulate. The series so far has been super light on filler. The only way I would be fine with the anime going past the manga is if Togashi just forgoes working on the manga and instead works with the studio, providing them with solid plot outlines and such.

The remake only cuts three episode of filler but the story is the same.... is not a Brotherhood style remake
