Horologium is one of Lucy's Silver Key Celestial Spirits who is usually summoned and used for shelter, transportation and protection. Like other spirits such as Loke and Virgo, he can force-open his celestial gate.
Creation
Horologium was created Hiro Mashima, who designed him to resemble a clock which is proper considering that its name is Latin for clock. He made his first appearance in Chapter 2 of the manga and Episode 2 of the anime. He is voiced by Masaki Kawanabe in the Japanese version and Ben Bryant in the English version.
Character Evolution
Appearance
Horologium shields Erza, Charle and Lucy from the rain.
Horologium looks like a grandfather clock with arms, legs and a large tower or waist where Lucy, sometimes with others (i.e. Charle, Erza, Happy or Wendy), shelters herself against unbearable weather or enemy attacks. In addition, Horologium's ability to walk allows Lucy to use him as transportation.
Personality
Horologium is a lucid and straightforward spirit. He also seems to be unemotional and objective and only does what he must do as a spirit. But he seems to have developed a caring side for Lucy as shown when he saved Lucy from a collapsing Nirvana or when he saved her when Magnolia was sucked up by an Anima in the Edolas Arc.
Powers & Abilities
Lucy uses Horologium to shelter herself from the frigid weather.
Although Horologium does not have any combative powers, he does have other abilities that come in handy. For example, he can be used as a form of shelter against extreme weather or environmental conditions (such as snow or mud) or enemy attacks and he can cure lack of oxygen and various skin irritations.
