A classmate of Konata and Kagami and friend of Minami and Yutaka, Hiyori is a doujin writer and a fan of yaoi/yuri.
Hiyori, while friendly and polite, is an ameteur doujin artist and fujoshi, and enjoys writing doujinshi about a broad spectrum of things ranging from yaoi--boys love--to yuri-girls love. Because of this, she frequently imagines her best friends, Minami and Yutaka, in romantic situations and chastises herself emotionally for this out loud, even though Minami and Yutaka have no idea what she's talking about.
Hiyori is always looking for good plots and inspiration for her doujin, though she tends to have her moments of enlightment at times she never has noting equipment nearby and therefore forgets a lot of her plot ideas. She can also be kind, but somewhat bashful in inoppertune moments, leading to simple failures when she's under some kind of stress.
She appears to have some problem with animals such as Minami's dog, Cherry.
