Hisana Kuchiki was the older sister of Rukia Kuchiki and the wife of 6th Division Captain Byakuya Kuchiki.
History
Hisana and Byakuya
On the spring of the fifth year of her marriage to Byakuya, Hisana became violently ill. On her death bed, Hisana asked Byakuya to find Rukia and adopt her into the clan and treat her as his own sister. Hisana also requested that Byakuya not tell Rukia about the two of them having been sisters as Hisana did not feel herself worthy enough to be called Rukia's sister after what she had done. Hisana told Byakuya that she was sorry for not fully returning his love and said that the last five years had been like a wonderful dream. She then passed away a few moments afterwards.
