This is great. I have only read the beginning of the manga and I really liked it so I always kind of hoped it would get animated, but never thought it would. But I have to say it will be hard to pull off, the manga has a unique kind of feel mixing the typical zombie apocalypse with regular high-school comedy. It is kind of graphic at times, with the smashing zombie faces and all, and I think that will be toned down quite a lot sadly. As long as they manage to still mix the dark sides with the more comedic.
but most importantly, I hope we get an animated Simon Pegg cameo.
Awesome! I have tried reading the manga many times, but it is just so slowly paced i get bored four to five issues in. Now that it will be in an anime form, it will hopefully move along faster. Besides, on a recent voyage through the land of anime i discovered that anime is lacking in good zombie based anime. Hopefully this will spawn some other people to make more zombie anime.
@Reaperisgod: I'm not familiar with the manga, really, but if it's very fanservicey it wouldn't surprise me if the DVD version was considerably saucier than the TV version, which may mean some blurring or conveniently-placed smoke or whatnot in the TV ver.
Sure I'm excited, but for some reason I just don't feel like jumping out of my chair. Just like Persona 3 special editions, this has given me yet another reason not to catch myself up on the manga... and just wait for the anime I'm surely going to forget about and fall behind on.
