This is the one of the Fall 2012 trailers.

Plot

Rather than a continuation of the previously animated Hayate no Gotoku seasons, this series will be independent and written by the author, Kenjiro Hata, himself.

That music seems overly serious for what the series will actually be about.

Hayate is my favorite comedy anime series but I'm just not sure about this season. I thought season 1 was great and season 2, while not as good, was still a lot of fun and satisfying. Even the beach ova on par with what I expect from the series for comedy. However, I thought the movie was just terrible. I've watched about twenty minutes of it and nothing in it was funny in the least bit, and it wasn't like it was a super serious taken on the content or anything like that, it just wasn't funny. From what I've read, this new series is throwing the first two in the crapper and is going to be more like the movie in tone and direction.

I probably won't even check this out unless the internet feedback is that Hayate is back to being the Hayate I loved. The whole Kugimiya Tsundere Franchise Triumvirate has seemingly ended up pretty terrible. The last season of Shana was mostly disappointing, Zero no was mediocre, and now it seems like Hayate is about to be a crapper as well.

Considering Manglobe (same animators behind the movie) is making this new series, I'm not holding my breath on good quality from it. SynergySP and J.C. Staff did a much better job of handling the animation quality for the Hayate franchise, even when SynergySP had its anime original episodes when handling the first season of the show.

@sickVisionz: @Dream:

Sorry about the late reply.

I haven't tried this series. From what you guys said, I should start the first season before jumping on this one.

@takashichea: It's funny. Not as funny as Pani Poni Dash, but still good. The more anime you've seen, the funnier it is as they homage and parody things on a pretty regular basis. I think both seasons are on Crunchyroll for free if you want to check it out.
