Still no word yet on whether Hayao Miyazaki will make a visit to San Diego Comic Con, and I'm not sure how to take this news. We know that Miyazaki will be in Berkeley on July 25th, and the latest word is that on the 28th he'll be in Beverley Hills. San Diego Comic Con is July 22nd through 26th, so he'd probably have to be at San Diego the 23rd, leave the 24th, and come back down south to Beverley Hills by the 28th.

Then again, it's not impossible!

But back to the topic at hand: famed anime auteur Hayao Miyazaki will be at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (aka those Oscars people) for a tribute event at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on July 28th, which will also feature a screening of his Oscar-winning Spirited Away. Tickets go on sale June 25th, and yes, I'm going to do my best to make it there, even though I'll have to drive in from San Diego.

I'm just glad I'll have a shot at being there since I was going to have to miss his Berkeley appearance!

Where's all the Miyazaki love? Also, I like how you have him taking a dip in the water between LA and San Diego.
