Hate Among the Uchihas: The Last of the Clan! - 愚かなる弟よ恨め, 憎め! (Orokanaru otōto yo urame, nikume!)

Jiraiya saves Naruto from Kisame just in time. It turns out that Itachi and the Akatsuki organization are definitely after Naruto to obtain the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox. What they don't realize is that they are already deep withing Jiraiya's own trap.

Summary

Opening Theme-
"GO!!!" by FLOW

Jiraiya has arrived just in time to save Naruto from Kisame of the Akatsuki. He claims to be immune from the charms of the ladies and its the ladies who chase after him, but not even Naruto believes it the way he was drooling after that woman earlier. Over and over Naruto calls him "Pervy Sage" till he loses patients.

Kisame points out that he knows who he is and that he's an infamous womanizer. Jiraiya brushes the comments aside and mentions how Itachi Uchiha released the genjutsu he used earlier on the woman he's carrying on his shoulder. He calls him a coward for using such a technique on a defenseless woman. He sets the lady down in the hallway for her safety, and Naruto is confused why they would want to separate him from Jiraiya. When Jiraiya says that Naruto is their target, both Naruto and Sasuke are surprised. Now, Itachi understands why Kakashi understood their motives so easily when they fought at the Hidden Leaf Village. It was Jiraiya as the source. Itachi goes on to say that kidnapping Naruto is the Akatsuki's number one priority. Jiraiya's summoned frog disappears, and he tells them that he wont let them have him. Itachi isn't so sure he'll manage that. Still, Jiraiya is confident and plans to take out both these Akatsuki together. Sasuke buts in and tells him to stay out of this. He's back on his feet but still seriously injured, saying the one who will kill Itachi is only himself.

When Itachi tells his brother that he doesn't have any interest in him now, Sasuke tries to attack but is kicked to the end of the long corridor. Naruto tries to run to his aid, but is told to butt in by Sasuke. He pulls himself to his feet telling Naruto that he's lived for this vengeance. He tries attacking Itachi once more, and once more he's shot back to the end of the hall with a single strike. He crashes so hard this time that he coughs up blood. He still struggles to move, but Itachi notices that Sasuke isn't capable of forming hand signs after he broke his wrist. As his little brother calls this his battle, Itachi is finally willing to humor this notion. Kisame cuts Jiraiya off before he can get involved.

Itachi Uchiha defeats Sasuke with ease

Calmly, Itashi walks to the end of the hall and looks down upon his wounded brother. When Sasuke moves to strike, he's shot down with a single strike to the chest. More on the beating goes. An elbow to the back of the neck and a knee to the head. Slowly, Naruto is becoming more enraged as he watches this one-sided beating. As Sasuke falls, he realizes that the difference in their power is just too great. Before he can pass out, Itachi drags him back up and forces him against the wall. He calls him weak, and the source of this weakness is that he doesn't hate him enough. As Itachi opens his eyes, he uses the Tsukuyomi, Nightmare Realm on on his brother.He sends his mind back into the past. Forcing him back to his childhood and the fear he had the day the Uchiha Clan was massacred. Forcing Sasuke to watch the murder of their parents once more. Back in reality, Sasuke can only scream in terror.

Jiraiya unleashes the Toad Mouth Trap Jutsu

In the Genjutsu realm, Sasuke watches the slaughter of the Uchiha Clan happen all over again. naruto has had enough and slips by Kisame to run after Sasuke. AS Kisame tries to catch up, Jiraiya takes this chance to form the hand signs he needs to set his trap. The walls change to be organic, as if inside a great beast. Sasuke sinks into the wall and out of Itachi's hands, then the floor starts to engulf Kisame's feet. Jiraiya tells them they are already in his stomach. He summoned a giant toad esophagus from Mt. Myomoku rock cave. Naruto is shocked at what he sees, and Jiraiya tells him to stay still.

Itachi calls Kisame to him. He drags himself free and they run deeper into the changed halls. Jiraiya calls escape impossible. The fless walls charge onto the fleeing partners, and Itachi closes and open his eyes. Deeper in the hall and unseen by Jiraiya or Naruto, there is a and explosion then silence. Jiraiya rushes to investigate. When he looks around the corner, there is a huge hole in the esophagus hall that is covered in a black flame. A distance away, Itachi and Kisame are on the run. Kisame wants to know why they had to run. Itachi tells him that there is no need to rush the capture of Naruto. Also, he needs to rest his body. The use of the Tsukuyomi and the Ameterasu has been too much for him to use so soon together,

Back at the hall, Naruto gets a close look at the black flame, and Jiraiya yells at him not to get so close. He's confused how they escaped and the source of this flame. He unrolls a scroll and starts writing a special sealing jutsu. From the parchment, chakra surrounds the black fire and seals it into the scroll. He rolls it up and ties it extra tight. Now, he turns his attentions to Sasuke and the wall gently releases him for Naruto to catch. Once Jiraiya stops his foot, the hall changes back to normal. When Naruto eases him down,his eyes are open but catatonic. Before anyone can rest, and a kunai flies back their heads and strikes the wall. A shadowy figure from the hole in wall charges to attack. It's Might Guy who strike Jiraiya with a powerful kick. Only too late does he realize the mistake he just committed.

Later in their hotel hallway, Jiraiya has a bruised face and tissue to stem a bloody nose. Guy apologizes for the attack. He had forgotten to bring his mirror with him in the rush to leave and catch Sasuke. He instead used his forehead protector at the hole in the wall he found. With this unpolished material, he only had a rough image of the figures in the hall. Putting the idiocy aside, Jiraiya tells Guy they need to tend to Sasuke immediately and get him medical attention. Guy can tell that Sasuke was victim to the same thing that Kakshi suffered. Naruto asks if he's gong to be okay. Jiraiya can only tell him that Sasuke suffered serious mental damage from that attack. Naruto can only think of all the physical and emotional damage he's recently witnessed. Fury rages within him and his fists start to shake. Naruto wants to change the plan for the trip. Though he was scared before, he wants to go after Itachi. Jiraiya dismisses the idea as suicide for the level he's at now. When he tries to object further, Jiraiya shots him down by shouting for him to be quiet. He tells him he's weak.

Jiraiya is disappointed in himself for not helping Sasuke earlier, and Guy tells them that Kakashi suffered the same attack. Naruto is alarmed at this news, but Guy can only see his own student Rock Lee as he looks on at Sasuke. He says that whenever his students are injured. That he alwasy wished a particular medical jutsu specialist was in the village, and Jiraiya tells him that they are going to look for her, now.

In another town, a blond woman in green walks down a hallway with a small pig by her side. Guy suddenly realizes who Jiraiya's talking about. The woman slams down the suitcase she's carrying and it's filled with cash. A dark-haired woman across the table is shocked to see that amount of money. Jiraiya tells Guy that he's right. He speaks of the woman who summons slugs and drives away illness. A fellow Sannin. The blond woman shouts in excitement that they are going to turn around their luck, but the dark haired woman doesn't look convinced. Jiraiya announces that she's Princess Tsunade, the one with "Gamble" written on her back.

Points of Interest

This episode is the first mention of Mt. Myomoku, the realm where the summon frogs come from. Naruto will eventually visit that realm to train to use Sage Mode.
The kanji on the scrolls that Jiraiya seals the Amaterasu fire on is 封 (fuu), which means "seal".
This episode marks the first appearance of Shizune, Tonton, and Tsunade's first adult appearance. She first appeared as a child in Naruto Ep. 83.
the kanji on the back of Tsunade's robe is 賭 (kake), which means "gamble".
