Haruka Ouma

Origin

Haruka Ouma is a Senior Researcher at Sephirah Genomics, under the GHQ, and was one of the researchers that were working on creating the cure for The Apocalypse Virus that struck Japan. She is Shu Ouma's stepmother, and lives with him in an apartment; however, due to her time-consuming job, she is only home about once a week.

Haruka, Keido Shuuichirou's younger sister, graduated from high school a year earlier than others her age and she became Kurosu Ouma's assistant. Her usual duties were cooking for him, and she often had the habit of covering him when he fell asleep. Haruka thought that Kurosu was an amazing man, sacrificing himself in order to stop the Apocalypse Virus, and she eventually falls in love with him. A year passes and she became his wife, and she moved with Kurosu's children - Shu and Mana to Tokyo.

On the day of Lost Christmas, Mana and Haruka both waited for Kurosu to come to church for a family gathering. Mana urges Haruka to get Kurosu, who most-likely is absorbed with his work. When she arrived Kurosu's lab, she found him killed, and the event of Lost Christmas occurred afterwards. Haruka ends up taking Shu in and raising him out of love, despite not knowing him.

Creation

Haruka Ouma's character design was created by RedJuice Graphics. She has no information regarding any inspiration used to create her. Haruka first appears in Guilty Crown episode 1: Genesis and volume 1.

Her Japanese voice actress is Chika Fujimura.

Haruka is a young woman with light brown hair and brown eyes.

Haruka is usually seen dressed in a long white lab coat when she is working at Sephirah Genomics. When at home, Haruka usually stays in her undergarments, even when guests are around. During the second season of Guilty Crown, Haruka is seen dressed in a tight blue uniform.

Character Personality

Haruka appears to have both a serious and a playful personality. While at work, she acts professionally and is very diligent since she usually stays at work for most of the week. When at home, Haruka stays in her underclothes (bra, panties, nightgown, etc) even when there are people over.

Haruka is very playful with Shu, and can be very doting. Even though she is playful, she is very protective of him and strives for him to have a bright and successful future. She is against Shu having "The King's Power" because of all the negative outcomes that come along with it; she is so against it that she is willing to have Shu's arm cut off in order to save him from that power.

Although Haruka has left Shu alone a lot due to her busy work schedule, she loves him dearly as if he were her biological son. Another evidence of her love for him is that when Shu re-obtained "The King's Power", she cried.
