Haku

Origin

Haku was born in a snowy village somewhere in the Land of Mist. He inherited the Hyoton bloodline limit from his mother, which gave him the ability to control ice by combining water and wind chakra. When his father discovered that his wife and son had this mysterious and dangerous bloodline ability, he killed Haku's mother and attempted to kill Haku. Haku panicked and his body responded by summoning large ice crystals that pierced his father, killing him. He became a beggar and wandered the land until he was found by Zabuza Momochi, one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, who took him in under his wing because of his powerful Hyoton ability.

Land of Waves Arc

Later on, Haku and Zabuza confront Team 7 on the partially-constructed bridge. He and Sasuke begin to fight and Haku uses his Hyoton limit to use 1000 Needles of Death, which summons a barrage of ice needles that fly at the enemy.  Sasuke is pushed back initially, but starts matching Haku blow for blow. Haku decides to use his "Demonic Ice Mirrors"  technique, which summons an assortment of the titular ice mirrors, which he can merge into and teleport between at extremely fast speeds. He quickly depowers Sasuke by moving between his ice mirrors, piercing Sasuke with Ice Needles. Before he can defeat Sasuke, Naruto jumps in between the ice mirrors, trapping himself but allowing him to protect Sasuke.
