Hajime no Ippo Characters

Aoki is Ippo's senpai in the Kamogawa gym and Kimura's best friend. Aoki along with Kimura was a delinquent in his high school and was a staunch rival of Takamura. He tried setting up fight with Takamura everytime but was always badly hit by him. Finally, he joined the Kamogawa Gym in order to stay close to Takamura and search for an opportunity to beat him or even hit him a single time. But as time passed, he started loving boxing as the crowd loved him for beating someone which earlier made his reputation as a bad guy in high school. So he made Boxing as his career and fought for Japan Lightweight Belt.

Ippo was introduced into the world of boxing by Takamura and enters the Kamogawa Gym. Reigning JBC Featherweight Champion.

Takamura is a multi-weight class infighter and a member of the Kamogawa Boxing Gym.

Mashiba is a former Japanese Junior Lightweight champion, the current OPBF Lightweight champion.
