The live squid might be the only issue for me getting. Perhaps just some pre-packaged squid from a store.

Live squid is easy to get! Sees if Asian supermarkets has it.

I just did that challenge on Sunday but it ended up like stew due to too much Apple sauce and have forgotten to buy ears corn instead I put baby corn.

Edit: You would not want to see that recipe disaster that I have created ;O

Since you can't even get her surname right, Shimon-Simon, it's no wonder you can't find Yoko.  Try looking on Koreha Island and ask for Yomako.  At least you're giving her due credit for being a war hero.  It's a pity Gainax forgot that so soon.  Well, who needs a war hero when you can have a formulaic magical princess instead?

Someone hasn't watched the official release. That is her surname. Official translation.

Well, Niko, let's put it this way:  Yoko's surname was "Ritona" from the day she came into being.  It was "Ritona" for the subsequent 18 months.  Then, due to some meddling anti-Yoko executive's idea of how to destroy a character's name familiarity, an idiotic corporate edict suddenly proclaimed -- after a year and a half -- Yoko's surname in North America should henceforth be "Littner."  Where was this apparent ultimatum during those first 18 months?

Gainax subsequently released a hilarious statement indicating North Americans were incapable of pronouncing "Ritona".  Really?  Shall I attach an audio file?  Will all those who can't pronounce the word "Ritona" please respond by saying, "I can't talk"?  No:  Yoko's surname was Ritona, is Ritona and will forever be Ritona.  You can call her Percival H. Quinn for all I care, but don't expect me to bow down to some ridiculous come-lately edict issued by billionaires at Tokyo who otherwise pretend nothing exists outside Japan.

Easily 90-percent of all Web sites I've visited since Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann went out the door refer to Yoko as "Yoko Ritona."  They still do!  It's only a relative handful of anime/manga-related Web sites, along with misguided wikis such as Wikipedia (and this site's wiki), which have administrators/Webmasters who tremble in obedience to every dictum foisted on the public by distant corporations which been out to lunch for a year and a half.

Gainax doesn't even have an English-language mirror site, yet I'm supposed to honor their English-language whimsies?  I think not.  But to ahead:  call Yoko "Yoko Littner" all you like.  While we're at it, how about let's change "Kamina" to "Caldera," or Shimon/Simon to "The Pie Man," or "Nia Teppelin" to "Numbskull Teppelin"?  Maybe some corporate letterhead stationery will do the trick.

"Littner" might be "official" at corporate offices of Bandai and/or Gainax, but as it happens I don't work for them.  Somebody, it would seem, hasn't followed Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann for very long; nor have they realized most of us aren't touts for every whim Bandai and/or Gainax wish to test.  In short, nearly all people call Yoko "Yoko Ritona" -- because that's her name.

Wow. Didn't expect an argument, especially that long. Still, Gainax did create the character, and if Gainax and Bandai Ent decided that the English pronunciation should be Littner, that's their prerogative. Their character, after all.
