With Togame dead, Shichika goes on a rampage to finish the task that she started.
As Togame lays dying in Shichika's arms, she tells him that all of this was a part of her plan and that had she not died, she intended on killing him after he retrieved all twelve blades. Having manipulated everything, including her heart, into her plan, she says that her feelings were real and dies asking Shichika if it's ok for her to fall for him.
Meanwhile, Princess Hitei meets with Masatsuna Yanari, Eighth Shogun of the Owari Shogunate. After revealing that she is a descenedent of Shikizaki Kiki and confirming the claims made by Houou Maniwa in the previous episode, she is interrupted by news that Shichika has entered the castle grounds. Princess Hitei orders Masatsuna to select his eleven strongest warriors and gives them the remaining Klesha Bringers, however, they prove no match for Shichika who is no longer bound by Togame's rules of protecting himself and not breaking the swords. While all of this is taking place, Hitei reveals the truth behind Kiki's plan: Kiki had a vision of Japan being completely destroyed by outside forces after a long period of peace. In order to prevent this from happening, which is scheduled to take place 100 years after the current point in the story, Kiki created the Deviant Blades in hopes that their use would allow a more military minded leader to take control and create policies that would leave Japan better equipped for the eventual attack.
Upon reaching the room where Hitei and the shogun are, Shichika proceeds to kill Masatsuna to make an example out of him. Before he is able to do so, Hitei explains to the shogun that Kiki's plan was for his lineage to be wiped and that this is the final chapter in his legacy. With that, Shichika executes him in a grand display of power.
With Togame dead and the shogun defeated, Shichika decides to continue his travels and is joined by Hitei. While stopping at a road side shop, Hitei tells Shichika that the shogun's sons were put into power and that they continued the peaceful policies of their father, making all of the plotting and scheming on everyone's end a complete failure. Shichika responds that they should leave the fate of Japan up to the future soldiers of Japan and with that, they continue on their journey.
