Adaptation of a manga originally serialized in Shonen Sunday Super, in which demonic Darknoid invaders from Nosfertia are held off by a group of pretty young boys, who inexplicably work in a noodle bar during their time off. Japanese teenager Toya Shinjo is told by his parents that he is not from Earth at all, but rather he is a Humanoid from the parallel dimension of Eternaliya, reincarnation of an ancient hero, and fated to work together with transforming Animanoid knights from Heavenstia in order to thwart the Darknoids. Unsurprisingly, the Animanoids are a wolf (Greyfas), a hawk (Beakwood), and a gorilla (Gariel), uniting speed, flight, and strength, like so many other shows since Babel II. A series in the tradition of shows like Saint Seiya, although its attempt to integrate boys' and girls' TV anime genres was easily outclassed by Escaflowne the following year.
