Gojira better known as Godzilla, is the Monster king. He was accidentally created by Nuclear Radiation and is now protecting Asia from man-made and alien attacks, over the years he's amassed many friends to protect Asia. His title is the King of All Monsters, he truly is unbeatable.

Origin

Gojira, originally called by Asia, but better known as Godzilla is a best accidentally created by Nuclear Radiation. His beginnings were first not given great thought, however the most worldwide accepted story of Godzilla is that he was created from an Atomic Bombing in the year 1945. In 1945, during the 2nd World War Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed by the allies in that year this leading to the event that created Godzilla. While Godzilla is seen as a destructive threat, many see him as a hero of Asia as he constantly protects Asia from threats that would seek to destroy it. Many which come from man-made accidents or attempts to destroy him. Much is still unclear about Godzilla's origin as it is not explained on "why" exactly he protects Asia. Whether this is from his brain becoming more advanced since the Nuclear Radiation, he is seen to also attack Japan for no reason at all. Though Godzilla has always returned to being a hero as he is always risking his life for others, including his own kind.

The genius behind the monster

Godzilla was created by Tomoyuki Tanaka, the character was first seen in a movie titled "Godzilla" on November 3, 1954. The name "Gojira" is a mix between two Japanese words: goria (which means gorilla) and kujira (which means whale). Tanaka described Godzilla to be a corss between a gorilla and a whale, completely ignoring the fact that over the years Godzilla has changed to look more reptilian than a mix of a whale and a gorilla. The name Gojira was originally given to the character when Tanaka thought of a 7ft tall stagehand that went by the name "Gojira", he worked at Toho Studio. Godzilla's name was pronounced godzira in the original Japanese version of the film, the first syllable was "god" and the second was the last sound syllable in gorilla -- which was "illa". Basically godilla. However during the Japanese-to-English verion of the film it made it sound like Gozira.

Eventually through multiple movies and worldwide credit, Godzilla became the worldwide accepted name by both the industry as well as the fans of the franchise.

Character Evolution

"He's not some monster trying to evade you. He's just an animal. If you find what he wants, then he'll come to you." - Dr. Niko Tatopoulus

From the beginning, Godzilla has always changed in minor as well as huge changes that have changed how people see Godzilla; either monster or hero. The appearance of Godzilla has been changed constantly, as from the beginning Godzilla wasn't as scary or terrifying as he appears now. The body shape of Godzilla has almost stayed the same, however it has been rounded or slimmed down to make the character look more bestial than a bit friendlier when he first began. Godzilla is very recognizable as a giant, reptilian, mutant with rough, jagged scales and his tail has gained and lost spikes over the years. From the 80's and through modern times, Godzilla looks more like a reptilian than a whale crossed with a gorilla. The more modernized Godzilla is a combination with a Tyrannosaurs Rex, Stegosaurs, Crocodile and Iguanodon. All which make his neck, body, arms, dorsal plates, forearms, tail and skin appearance. The dorsal plates have only changed in shape and size. The roar of Godzilla has only gotten higher in pitch over the many years that Godzilla has been around.

As Godzilla was originally targeted to adults and more in the starting off horror genera, Godzilla has been changed countless times to target children in the late 60's and 70's. That is one of the main reasons why Godzilla has changed to look more heroic instead of a scary monster. Godzilla was originally a green colored monster, but that wasn't how the Toho Studio depicted the character. They saw Godzilla more of a black color instead, to show that he is more reptilian in nature as well. Godzilla has a healing factor which allows him to heal from almost any wound spontaneously, as he is able to withstand great amounts of damage. However, with each writer having their own version of Godzilla in their own minds, they've greatly increased or decreased how the monster withstood damage from either human or monster attacks. Making it more interesting for the audience.

Age: 58 (406 years counting it by animal years)

Scales: Black

Height: 328' (100m)

Known Powers: Atomic Ray, Martial Arts, Nuclear Pulse, Healing Factor

Base of Operations: Japan, Tokyo, Monster Island

With Godzilla being a monster born of radiation, Godzilla's most iconic weapon to use is the Atomic Ray. The Atomic Ray has changed over the years as well. It was originally a green blast of fire that Godzilla was able to shoot out of his mouth, but in the mid 70's it changed to blue and finally in modern days it is red to look a bit more realistic. When the ray changed from green to blue it also explained that Godzilla, if he ever used it, was giving off radiation from his Atomic Ray and whatever he shot at (or if he damaged property) he'd leave great amounts of radiation around that would normally kill human beings. Since then, the Atomic Ray has been changed to red fire which is portrayed in the more modern Godzilla films.

Throughout Godzilla's less serious roles in the movie community, he has always been able to do his victory dance which requires him jumping up in the air chanting. After Godzilla turning into a more serious reptilian creature, the writers have decided to cut out all of the factors that make Godzilla amusing.

The atomic ray which is used by Godzilla is only seen as a last resort weapon to finally destroy his enemy. This can also be compared to Ultraman who uses his abilities to destroy the monsters as well. As Godzilla is mutated from radiation, it has also made him smarter. If not as smart as a human being, than just lower than them. He can be seen showing sympathy for either the humans or his fellow monster companions. He is also an expert in martial arts as he is able to dish out a lot of damage really quickly and with deadly precision.
