Godou Kusanagi

Creation

Godou Kusanagi was created by Jo Takezuki as the main character in the Campione! franchise that is originally a light novel. He first appears in Campione! episode 1. He is voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka.

Evolution

Appearance

Godou is an average Japanese high school student. His has black hair and brown eyes. He is fairly built and athletic. He changes his clothes from time to time but his signature outfit is a white opened-up school shirt with a long sleaved shirt in the inside with matching pants.

Personality

He is a modest person. For example, he does not like to be called King. During times of battle, he is a serious person who is concerned about other people's well being. At times, he will risks his life to save his friends even if it means killing himself. He tries to avoid compromising situations where Erica or any of the girls undress, kiss, or other things. He is quite merciful to his opponents.

Relationships

Erica Blandelli

Erica and Godou first meet in Italy where they first fight Verethragna. At first, Erica finds Godou perverted and intolerable. After the defeat of Verethnaga, she shares a kiss with Godou, and she becomes bold and flirtatious with Godou. When Godou questions Erica's love for him, Erica tells him that her love for him is true and that no one had ordered her. Later on, Erica finds Yuri and Godou a bit too close, and she tells Godou that she will only allow Yuri to join them due to Yuri's sixth sense. Erica wants Godou to promise him that she will be his first wife. She often kisses Godou to provide him with information, and with every kiss, it gets passionate and intense.

Yuri Mariya

Yuri respects Godou for his Campione title. She tends to get jealous of Erica who is constantly flirting and kissing him, and she scolds Godou when she thinks Godou is out to pick up girls in the hot spring scene. Another example of her jealousy is demonstrated when Yuri kiss Godou for the first time, Erica sneak a kiss from Godou right in front of her. Despite her jealously, she likes Godou who helped her buy a cell phone and for saving her from Duke Voban.

Liliana Krancar

Liliana is a knight who stresses honor, and she views her relationship with Godou as a king and his knight. Though, Godou tells her not to call him king. With Karen egging Liliana to flirt with Godou, Liliana strips her clothes only to regret her shameful actions later. She does not like when people read her romantic stories that she writes when she threatens to kill Godou. Like Yuri, she gets upset when someone kisses Godou. In her case, she is shocked when Athena steals a kiss from Godou right in front of her.

Athena

Godou and Athena are former enemies since Godou spare her life after defeating her.

Powers & Abilities

Ten Avatars

Godou receives the powers from Verethragna after slaying the god, and he mainly uses these Avatars. The Golden Sword is his most used and powerful weapon that relies on Words of Knowledge, obtaining the god's true origins.
