Giriko is a villian in Soul Eater. He is a chainsaw weapon without a meister, and has a rivalry with Justin Law
History
Giriko first appeared in Soul Eater episode 26. Maka and Soul, with Crona following in observation, were sent on assignment to destroy a ravaging golem in a remote town. The inhabitants of the town were well known for their abilities to create golems, using special gloves they possessed to give their creations life. Giriko greeted the three students upon their entrance to the town, and offered to take them to the berserk golem. Upon arriving though, it was revealed that Giriko was a chainsaw weapon who lured the three to the golem so he could destroy them. The golem itself had been created by Giriko as a meister for himself.
After almost defeating Maka's team, Giriko was interrupted by Justin Law, a Death Scythe sent to protect the students. Giriko and Justin fought, but came out evenly matched. In the course of the fight, the witch Arachne, who Giriko serves, was awakened from inside the golem. Using the golem as a diversion, Giriko escaped with Arachne.
When Giriko next appeared, Arachne had returned to her newly formed organization, Arachniphobia. Giriko behaved like a king within the organization, which angered Arachne's other servant Mosquito. The two had a minor fight, which was never really resolved in the episodes.
During the battle for the Demon Tool BREW, Giriko was leading a troup of Arachniphobia members when he was attacked by Justin Law. The battle between the two took place in episode 36.
Characteristics
Giriko is very much a free spirit. One of the main reasons he joins Arachne is because of his detest from Shibusen, as school in which weapons work together with meisters. He tells the protagonists that he will never be used by a meister. Instead, he has developed a fighting style using his own weapon skills to attack and defend. Most of this style revolves around the use of his chains on various parts of his body. This free spirit is also reflected in his rivalry with Justin Law, another weapon who fights without a meister.
