The king of the planet Deviluke and Lala, Nana and Momo's father.
Self-proclaimed king of the universe and father of Lala, Momo, and Nana. Gid was reduced to the size of a toddler by expending the vast majority of his power to conquer the universe.
He is portrayed either of two ways depending on the version:
Anime: Much more of a jerk in this, Gid almost follows through on his threat of destroying the Earth but is foiled by his own word given to Rito. Also, in the anime, his initial test of Rito is hiring a very well endowed blond woman (she is never named) to seduce Rito (although I cannot think what the pipsqueak was trying to accomplish). Rito refuses the woman's advance (in his own unique way of panic) and Gid was just about to obliterate Rito when Lala arrived and beseached her father to not kill Rito.
In the manga he is much more reasonable and understanding of Lala's wishes, pretty much staying out of the entire affair. He is shown as more of a pervert in the manga, as from his appearence to his exit, for the first time, he is running around grabbing girls chests from behind and generally making a huge (pun intended) nuisence of himself. Lala actually calls him on an ulterior motive for marrying her off. With Lala married, that would make Gid free to screw around as much as he wanted.
