Overview

Ghosts are spirits of dead people, dead animals, and anything dead. In anime and manga, ghosts are use for various things and can be a major theme in a franchise.

Bleach (Major)

Shinigamis are the Japanese version of grim reapers who take spirits who are lost to the after life, soul society. There are many different types of spirits.

Fate Stay Night (Minor)

Heroic spirits are ghosts because they have died in the past. They are summon from the afterlife by mages who participate in the Holy Grail War. A heroic spirit often has the name of a famous warrior in the history of humans.

Pokémon (Major)

Ghost type Pokémon are not very common species in the anime or video games. They live in abandoned buildings, cemeteries, and shines.

Pure ghost types are weak against dark and ghost, but their attacks are effective against psychic and ghost.

Shaman King (Major)

There are about four types of ghosts in the Shaman King Franchise: Human (Serei), Nature, Animal (Familiars), and Kami.

*Same table used in Shaman.

Note= Familiars and Shikigamis are use interchangeably and can mean the same thing in Shaman King.

Supernatural (Major)

Ghosts are supernatural species that come in varying types. Some ghosts are violent while others are good. In Supernatural, to kill a ghost (make it pass on to the afterlife) is to destroy the human remains of the ghost's.

Live Adaptation: Ghosts have a connection to demons. As Bobby puts, demons are like ghosts with big egos. Both demon and ghosts shares a common weakness: burn the human remains and the demon or ghost is destroyed.
