After Barragan gave this announcement, Ggio and the other Fracción pulled out and assembled a throne comprised of bones for Barragan to sit upon while they awaited further orders.
For most the initial fighting, Ggio remained at Barragan's side until Choe Neng Poww, Charlotte Cuulhourne, Avirama Redder and Findor Carias were killed in battle and had failed to destroy the four pillars surrounding the false Karakura Town.
Furious over having lost nearly half of his own Fracción, Barragan decided to take matters into his own hands and join the battle himself, Ggio stopped him however and convinced Barragan to let both Ggio and Nirrge Parduoc deal with the remaining Shinigami.
Ggio vs. Soi Fon
When 2nd Division Shinigami Captain Soi Fon overheard the conversation both she and her lieutenant, Marechiyo Ōmaeda, rushed over to confront Ggio and Nirrge.
Ggio and Soi Fon immediately engage one another in battle and after a few rounds Ggio takes note that Ōmaeda is losing his fight against Nirrge, Soi Fon says she does not care and hopes that Ōmaeda will learn from his failure.
After a few more rounds of fighting, Soi Fon is able to pin Ggio against the side of a building with a binding spell and then, while believing that she has secured her victory over Ggio, proceeds to release Suzumebachi and finish him off.
However, before she can, Ggio uses his Cero to destroy the building he was pinned to and free himself, upon which doing so he uses Sonído to get behind Soi Fon and proceeds to criticize her for not immediately finishing him off after getting him pinned down, which he mockingly notes is something he would have done had he been in her position.
Just in the nick of time.
After delivering a fierce kick to her stomach, Ggio sends Soi Fon crashing into a building and after correctly identifying her status as captain of the second division and of the stealth forces, he releases his Zanpakutō and accidentally kills Nirrge in the process of taking on the first of his two released forms.
When the fighting begins again, Soi Fon is seemingly overwhelmed by Ggio and ends up pinned against a building much like she had done to Ggio earlier on.
Wasting no time, Ggio moves to kill Soi Fon only to end up having his attack blocked by Ōmaeda, who then grabs a hold of Ggio in order to give Soi Fon a clear winning shot.
As he is doing so, Ggio prepares to tear Ōmaeda asunder using his Cero but is stopped by Soi Fon, who states that she was trying to examine the released form of an Arrancar in preparation for her fight against The Espada.
Ggio soon emerges from the building he was thrown into and takes on his second and final release form, but before he can do anything at all, Soi Fon uses Suzumebachi's Death in Two Steps ability to destroy Ggio once and for all.
In the wake of Ggio's death, Ōmaeda remarks on how Soi Fon was able to kill him with her ability even though it appeared as if she had struck him in two different places.
Soi Fon goes onto explain that she did not hit Ggio in two different places but rather had pierced his right lung in the same spot on both sides of his body.
Ggio is the last of Barragan's Fracción to die and it is his death which forces Barragan to finally take matters into his own hands.
Powers and Abilities
Like most Arrancar, Ggio can use a rose red-colored Cero which he is usually seen firing from the palms of his hands.
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combat
Ggio is a very adept and highly proficient hand-to-hand combatant and is capable of fighting on equal footing with 2nd Division Shinigami Captain Soi Fon. He has been known to use swift-moving kicks when his opponents least expect them.
Expert Swordsmanship Specialist
Ggio is an expert in swordsmanship and is capable of taking Soi Fon on equal footing using his Zanpakutō in its sealed form as well as its three-bladed initial release form. His style of fighting and technique involves swift and stabbing strikes, constant attacks aimed at catching his opponent at high speeds and wielding his Zanpakutō using its reverse-grip for wide swings and strokes while attacking.
Ggio is an incredibly agile Arrancar whose speed has become very adept in the use of the technique called Sonído. His proficiency is clearly evident in the way he is able to dodge attacks at such high speeds as well as being able to not only keep up with Soi Fon in battle but also being able to surprise her at times with how fast he is able to move while actually engaging in combat.
High Spiritual Power
At it's presumed height, Ggio's spiritual power was apparently on par with that of a Gotei 13 Captain, however because his opponent Soi Fon was holding her own power back for almost the entire fight it is not know exactly what the upper limit of his power actually was or if it was truly on par with a Gotei 13 Captain.
Tigre Estoque (虎牙迅風 (ティグレストーク), Tiguresutōku; Spanish for "Tiger Rapier", Japanese for "Tiger Fang Swift Wind") is the name of Ggio's Zanpakutō and, while sealed, it takes on the appearance of an unusual double-edged straight blade that's squared off making it roughly about the same size as a kodachi. It's hilt resembles a normal katana with a light yellow handle and a silver oval-shaped guard with slits going down the middle of both ends.
Initial Release Form
Once activated by the release command "Bite Off" (食い千切れ, kuichigire), Ggio undergoes a slight alteration in appearance. He becomes more tiger-like and loses much of his original youthful-looking feminine appearance in the process. He gains red stripes on his cheeks as well as his forehead, his Hollow Mask becomes slightly elongated at the back and the saber-teeth become slightly more pronounced. His white jacket continues down further into a black-embroidered loincloth with black stripes running the same pattern all the way down to his now exposed legs which are concealed in a more form-fitting white material which cuts off at his thigh. His feet become covered and fur and take on a cat-like appearance, his knees and elbows become covered in blond fur and he gains long squared-off blades on each wrist. His braided ponytail grows considerably longer and becomes much thicker, hanging down all the way to his knees and has been stripped blond and black and hanging off the end is a squared-off blade similar to the ones on his wrists.
Resurrección Special Ability: Projectiles In his release form, Ggio is capable of firing the saber-teeth on his Hollow Mask like projectiles when sticking straight out towards the intended target. Ggio can fire the projectiles with such force that he can pierce the side of a building with relative ease.
Tigre Estoque El Sable
Tigre Estoque El Sable By lifting his blade straight up towards the sky and calling out "Tigre Estoque El Sable", (虎牙迅風·大劍 (ティグレストーク·エルサブル) tiguresutoku eru saburu; Spanish for "Tiger Rapier The Saber", Japanese for "Tiger Fang Swift Wind Great Swords") Ggio undergoes a second transformation which he refers to as the "battle form" of Tigre Estoque. Once he has undergone this transformation, Ggio becomes a larger, more muscular and feral beast. His muscle mass increases astronomically and the white portions of his original look become brown in color. A small blond main grows around his neck, his forearms and hands are replaced entirely by large blades, the red stripes on his face become more prominent with a widows peak running down the bridge of his nose. His braid grows even longer than before and his blood veins prominently pop all over his new body due to his immense rage having to supply all of the extra power to maintain this form.
