The GAT-X303 Aegis is one of five mobile suit Gundams developed by the Orb Union for the Earth Alliance on the Orb colony Heliopolis. It was stolen along with three other suits by the Le Creuset Team, a ZAFT special forces team, and Athrun Zala becomes its pilot. The Aegis takes its name from a mythical shield associated with Zeus and Athena. It is a transformation-capable suit with a spider-like mobile armor form.
The Aegis is destroyed after latching onto the GAT-X105 Strike and self-destructing in battle.
