Garnet McLane

Dedicated and cruel. Major Garnet commands the Gillard army in the field under the direction of Prince Asim. She is in fact a dragon. She is very skilled with a katana and always has one with her, even dueling Gio on numerous occasions. She is dedicated to the Prince of Gillard and follows his orders without question... but always manages to fail in a humorus fashion.
Garnet is not concerned at all if the men she commands die while following her orders, the prime example of this is that everytime her troops attack the dragonauts they always suffer staggering losses... but if they achieve their objective (which they rarely do) Garnet will just smirk, and turn her back on the ships that are engaged, giving the order to retreat as more of a formality. Another prime example is shooting a super-laser from her command ship at the dragonauts while they are engulfed in a cloud of Gillard ships. Destroying hundreds of her own men while still failing to even harm the dragonauts.

Garnet really, is somewhat of a tragic character. While she is the dragon bonded to Prince Asim the Prince ignores her entierly, prefering instead to try and dominate other women, and other dragons, right in front of Garnet without any compunctions about doing so. While it is quite clear from her actions that Garnet is far too pround to be moved to tears by the actions of the Prince, her anger serves as a rather effective, if slightly obvious mask for despair. The prime example of this being the time when Prince Asim has Toa in a glass box in the middle of the throne room and is trying to convince Toa to be his dragon. Despite the fact that the dragon bonded to him is standing right next to his overly garish throne and is hearing every word he says. One wonders how Garnet manages to remain loyal to such an individual.
