Furugoori Kona News

Furugoori Kona is a anime/manga character in the Robotics;Notes franchise
| |

Welcome everyone! This is an update on the Robotics;Notes wiki project that Acura Max and I worked on.

Around the week of March 29, 2013, my teammate, Acura Max, and I finished the episode summaries. We both took turns on doing plot summaries: Acura Max did the even episodes while I did the odd episodes. The main struggle in the wiki project was time because we're busy with school, work, and family. On top of that, we had taken a task to encourage discussion of Robotics;Notes through the Robotics;Notes Discussion and informing the community any Robotics;Notes news.

For character wiki pages, we manage to fill the recurring characters.

Character Updates

Welcome to the Robotics;Notes Mini-Guide! In this guide, we will show you why you should try Robotics;Notes.

The anime series is based on 5pb's Visual Novel game for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 that is exclusive to Japan. It's produced by Productions I.G and broadcast by Noitamina and Fuji TV. It is directed by Kazuya Nomura.

The series can be streamed on Hulu.com and new episodes are be available every Friday until the series finale.

Plot

Setting: Tanegashima, Japan (2019)

It's about a school club called the Robotic Research Club that has a passion for robots. The club consists of two members named Akihoand Kaito, who have to save the club from being disbanded by winning the Robo-1 competition to prove that their club is worth keeping. As the club leader, Akiho has a dream of creating a giant robot modeled after her favorite anime show, Gunvarrel. Meanwhile, Kaito is searching for the Kimijima Reports with an A.I. named Airi to uncover the conspiracies and myths surrounding Gunvarrel's final episode and mysterious Committee of 300.

Characters

Here are the Robotics Research Club members plus one little cute A.I.

Kaito Yashio

He is the main protagonist who is a lazy student who's only interested in playing KILL BALLAD all day long. Though, his skills come in handy in the upcoming robot fights.

Akiho Senomiya

She is the main heroine who is hyperactive, passionate, and ambitious in her goals of building a giant robot.

Subaru Hidaka

He's an intelligent guy who has an alternate ego named Mr. Pleiades.

Junna Daitoku

She's a shy, new recruit who has some mad karate skills.

Furugoori Kona

She's a hikikomori who is the creator of the video game, KILL BALLAD, and the code master of the club.

Airi

She's an A.I. who has a brother complex with Kaito and loves doing weather reports. Her Geiji mode allows her to collect the reports.

Why Should You Watch It?

Appropriate audience for this anime series is everyone 10 and up. There is little blood and violence, but the characters do make suggestive comments.

For the most part, the anime has a slice of comedy feel with some supernatural elements. Those who liked the conspiracy elements from Steins;Gates will be happy to know that they will be appearing in this series. These elements are sprinkled throughout the first few episodes, but become more prevalent after episode 11.

The show is a must watch for Sci-Fi and mech lovers as well as for fans who have watch Steins;Gates or Chaos;Head. Those who familiar with the Mecha genre will easily pick up on the references that the show throws out. Though you don't need to know anything about the Mecha genre or Steins;Gate and Chaos:head to enjoy this series. It has great comedic pieces and good story if you like the slice of genre. If you are familiar with Steins;Gate or Chaos;Head, you will also pick up on the references that the series dishes out.

Robotic;Notes (Newtype)
Robotic;Notes (Newtype)

Hello Robotics;Notes fans!

For fans new to the series, here's a synopsis:

In 2019, Kaito Yashio and Akiho Senomiya are the sole members of the Robotics Club at Central Tanegashima High School in Kyushu, Japan. Akiho is an energetic positive-thinking girl who yearns to complete the ongoing project of the club: building a functional replica of Gunvarrel, the main robot of a once popular TV series. She will have the assistance of many people, but specially of her childhood friend Kaito, one of the top players of a well-known game called Kill-Ballad.

Trailers

Here are some promo trailers.

IOS Game

Here's an article on a new IOS app for the iTunes store:

An official Robotics;Notes iOS app has been released on the iTunes app store, just in time for the anime series’ debut on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” late-night anime timeslot this Friday in Japan (at 1:15AM, or 25:15 hours on Thursday night)

The app’s key feature is an AR camera that lets users take pictures with the heroine in Robotics;Notes, Akiho Senomiya. You can do this through two methods, depending on if the AR camera is set to “Portrait Mode” or “Marker Mode”.

Portrait Mode works like most other AR apps out there: Akiho will appear on-screen, plastered upon a video feed of your actual surroundings as picked up by your iPhone’s camera, and you can adjust Akiho’s pose or expression before taking the shot. More poses and expressions can be added via a “shop” menu from November onwards.

Marker Mode, on the other hand, is more like a QR code scanner. That is, when the iPhone camera picks up a certain image – such as a particular poster illustration found at shop fronts or on the Robotics;Notes official website - a 3D character will appear on the touchscreen.

Said 3D character’s position is tied to the AR marker (the shop poster or an online image), so you’ll be able to look at the character model from different angles and sides by physically moving your iPhone around.

Outside of the AR features, the Robotics;Notes app will also have a page for news and announcements published on the series’ official website, a “shop” menu where you can download wallpapers and addition AR camera poses and expressions (paid content), and a “tips” page that will be refreshed every week, prior to the airing of a new episode, containing explanations for new lingo or terms that will be used in the upcoming episode.

In other words, this nifty feature will serve to replicate the visual novel experience for anime viewers somewhat. In visual novels, “tips” are often trivial explanations about specific items that writers add in to give players a better understanding of the fictional universe (but are otherwise not required to understand the plot).

Future updates planned for the app include a group-chat functionality, more AR features related to Robotics;Notes merchandise (we’re not too sure what this refers to; could just be more AR markers for users to scan), and the ability to access “special contents”.

“TV animation 「ROBOTICS;NOTES」 official application” is free to download, and available now on the Japanese iTunes app store. Supports iPhone and iPad models running iOS 4.3 and up. iPod Touch compatibility will be added at a later date.

Robotics;Notes Merchandising

In the merchandise business, we got nendoroid figures for Akiho and Frau.

I posted a Nendoroid Compilation Thread for all new nendoroids in the market. Please visit that thread as well.

Robotics;Notes Food

On Crunchyroll's article, Psycho Pass and Robotics;Notes did a debut in advertising food.

Speaking of Skal, Acura Max and I did a article on if Skal is the new product placement: Will Skal be Robotic;Notes's new Product Placement?

Skal is much healthier than Dr. Pepper (Steins;Gates). We believe Robotics;Notes is trending on the healthy end.

Robotics;Notes Manga

Robotics;Notes - Revival Legacy follows Frau Koujirou. The artist is Tatsuya Shihira.

Source: Crunchyroll

This volume is debuted in Comic Blade Magazine. The artist is Keiji Asakawa. Not much info about the plot is revealed.

There are three other Robotics;Notes manga adaptations, but I don't have lot of information or pictures of their volumes or manga magazines.

Theme Songs

Lastly, I would like to end this blog with some cool theme songs!

Thank you for reading and please support the Robotics;Notes franchise.

Watch it legally on Funimation or HULU, buy the manga volumes when it comes out to your home country, or help out on the wiki pages. Acura Max and I are teammates, and we welcome any help.
