my problem with certain streaming sites like netflix with watching anime is the lack of japanese voice options.  It has been a few months since I've seen an anime on netflix so I don't know if this is a current problem.  But if I can't watch the anime with its original voice acting I'm not willing to pay a premium on a sub par product assuming the youtube rentals would all be engrish dubbed.

I've never been totally attached to the whole "having it in my hands" philosophy like a lot of otaku, so for me, netflix is ideal. "
I dunno, its not really the "Not having it in my hands" so much for rental. Its for the concept of ownership, you are paying for the right to watch and a near infinite number of things, 2-3 discs at a time.

Hmm... interesting. Obviously I don't give two licks which way a free episode comes, but once you're paying, you've obviously got a better position to expect the options. Of course, with the Section 23 releases (like the Fist of the North Star: Legends of the Dark King) its sub only to begin with.
