Who needs Monday Night Raw? John Cena is so over! FUNimation is going to bring on the fight of your lives-- the live-action Japanese gore flick Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl.

From the creators of Tokyo Gore Police, including Yoshihiro Nishimura-- the makeup/special effects god behind The Machine Girl and others --Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl revolves around a teen vampire named Monami and Keiko, the daughter of a mad scientist, who are both in love with the same guy: Mizushima. As you can probably guess, Keiko dies, and her father...puts her back together again, so to speak.

But you know, why should I describe the film when you can watch a bloody, violent, probably inappropriate-for-work trailer?

Don't say I didn't warn you.

The DVD and Blu-Ray editions are due out this October. It'll also be screened at the Mayfair Theater in Ottawa tonight and April 15th and 16th, and it'll show at the Nashville Independent Film Festival on April 20th.

Note: The Mayfair is in Ottawa, Canada's capital.

The reviews in the mainstream press are pretty amusing.  They're coming at this film with absolutely no context, with makes for fun times.

@ Gia
Don't say I didn't warn you.
You should warn us about the loud ring tone sound at the start of the video.  That really hurt my ears.

When people think about Japanese anime or movies (that are not into anime or Japanese movies) this is the type of stuff that pops into their head.

Wow. That looks bloody awful, no pun intended. I'm going to guess the bad special effects are intentional. Oh, and the blackface is sure to turn some heads.

Whoa. It vaguely reminds me of Elfen Lied, you know, when Lucy cuts Nana's limbs off... o.O
