I know a few of you were naysayers, suggesting that the English dub probably couldn't be done in time, but word from the LA Weekly is that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood will begin airing on Adult Swim on Valentine's Day. So, Happy V-Day to You, kids!

Here's a quick reminder of the new members of the dub cast (everyone else is the same as the original series):

  • Al Elric - Maxey Whitehead (Romeo x Juliet's Antonio)
  • Scar - J. Michael Tatum (One Piece's Eneru, Baccano's Isaac)
  • Isaac McDougal - Bryan Massey (Baccano's Ladd)

So, let's hear it: who's gonna stay up and watch and/or DVR? I fell off the FMA wagon, but everyone told me I should pick it back up around episode 17 or so, so I'm planning to at some point.

I didn't doubt the dub could be done in a timely fashion. If anything the original dub work on the first anime series was superb.

It's just after what [adult swim] did by moving the Code Geass anime on it's first run to 5AM, replacing the first time slot with their cheaply made  shows like Squidbillies. I haven't watched the network since. Even if they eventually put it back. Time and again they have expressed an open contempt for anime.

I was never too interested in this series to begin with. The previous ending was so lackluster. I didn't feel like getting emotionally involved in the series again only to be let down twice. I haven't even watched it subtitled.

Not surprised that this is coming to Adult Swim, but that's still awesome though.  I'm curious about the other 2 now.

Why was this series a re-imaging of the original anime? Was the original criticize from fans?

Count me in. I've been meaning to watch it on Hulu but haven't gotten around to it. 12AM [Sunday] should easily fit my schedule.

@Kou_Leifoh: This series follows the manga more closely than the original.

And now I actually have a reason to tune back into Cartoon Network/Adult Swim...It's been forever since I last watched anything there (since I caught Code Geass on their online streaming portal instead).

Corus got rid of Bionix so they could launch The Anime Channel in the near future.

Does FMA Brotherhood have new episodes from the original?
Post by Kris (130 posts) See mini bio Level 7
@wwfunderaker:
Brotherhood follows the manga storyline, whereas the original FMA deviated widely because the anime got ahead of the manga publication.

Anyway, DVR.  I watch 2 shows on AS right now, and I DVR both of them.  Bleach and Venture Brothers.  Was watching Moribito until they finished the run (and I bought the DVDs).  Occasionally catch a Robot Chicken.  But I don't watch anything else there.
