The antagonist of the third Kara no Kyoukai movie, Remaining Sense of Pain.
Fujino was born to the Asagami family, a clan of demon slayers who had telekinetic abilities. When her telekinetic abilities started to manifest, Fujino was put on a heavy dosage of medication by her family to keep her powers sealed and which gave her an insensitivity to pain.
While in middle school, she would encounter Mikiya Kokutou when she injured her leg during a field day competition between six of the schools in the area. When Mikiya tended to her, Fujino developed feelings for the boy thanks to his kindness. She enrolled at the Reien Girl's Academy, where she was allowed to leave the campus twice a month due to frequent medical appointments. During one of her appointments, Fujino was abducted by a local gang and subjected to rape by the members.
Upon getting bored by how inexpressive she was, one of the gang members struck her from behind. This resulted in Fujino's sensation of pain and her psychic powers to return. Upon regaining her sensation of pain, Fujino started to feel a great deal of pain in her stomach. Thinking she was stabbed in the stomach by one of the gang members as she was raped, Fujino proceeded to use her powers to kill the gang members with one surviving member being forced to flee. Unknown to her, Fujino's stomach pain was actually coming from a terminal case of appendicitis.
Wandering the town to seek out the gang member, Fujino would come across Souren Araya who offered to heal her spine. Unbeknownst to her though, Araya sought to use Fujino to try having the girl surpass the potential of Shiki Ryougi.
Fujino was created as one of the primary antagonists for Kinoko Nasu's Kara no Kyoukai novel series. She would also appear in the third movie of Ufotable's film series for Kara no Kyoukai, Remaining Sense of Pain. According to Nasu, Fujino's monologue at the end of the movie was misinterpreted by Ufotable. Instead of reflecting on her feelings for Mikiya, the monologue was meant for Fujino to reflect on her life up to that point as she regained her ability to feel pain. For the anime adaptation of her character, Fujino was voiced by Mamiko Noto in Japanese.
Fujino stands at 157 centimeters tall (almost '5'2") and is normally seen wearing her school uniform. Her hair is long in length with its color being different between source materials, being black in the novel and purple in the anime. Fujino has amethyst-colored eyes while normal and black eyes with red-green pupils while using her powers.
Fujino was known for being a model student as she was kind to others, never got in trouble and achieved high marks in most classes except for Literature. Despite such a personality though, she is the type who can not stop herself from falling down the path she strayed from and her lack of experience with feeling pain led her to feel she could not truly experience life despite what knowledge and common sense would tell her. Fujino still held feelings for Mikiya up to the present, as she viewed the interactions he had with her to be the happiest moments of her life up to that point.
Fujino sought out to kill the remaining gang members who raped her, yet would come across Mikiya as she walked the city streets. He allowed her to stay at his apartment for the night and while the two never acknowledged their names to one another, Fujino recognized him as the upperclassman she talked with from years earlier. She proceeded to kill acquaintances of the gang member who fled from her with her psychic powers. However, she eventually got enjoyment out of her murderous acts and proceeded to kill an innocent bystander.
This act led Shiki to seek out to kill her and the two would have a heated battle with one another. Despite one of her arms being seriously damaged by Fujino's powers, Shiki managed to defeat the girl as she eventually could cut through Fujino's psychic attacks with her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. In a desperate act, Fujino used her powers to destroy the bridge that she and Shiki fought on. She winded up being injured from the rubble of the collapsed bridge instead. As Shiki sought to finish Fujino off, she seen that the girl had once again lost her powers and sensation of pain. Losing interest in killing her, Shiki instead chose to destroy Fujino's appendicitis.
The trauma of the pain and use of her powers led Fujino's mind to regress to a child and her eyesight degraded to the point where she would require a blind stick to feel her way around.
Fujino possesses the Mystic Eyes of Distortion, magical eyes that allow her to create an axis of rotation on those within her eyesight and telekinetically warp her targets. This allows her to twist objects and people within her eye sight, leading to some rather gruesome deaths as the Mystic Eyes can easily dismember human targets. However, this power is ineffective against conceptual things as they can not be used against magical barriers and bounded fields.
During her battle with Shiki, Fujino had gained clairvoyance where she could see things beyond her range of eye sight. This allowed her to accomplish the best destructive feat within Kara no Kyoukai as she used this ability alongside her Mystic Eyes of Distortion to level the entire bridge that she and Shiki were battling on.
