When the young unicorn Twilight Sparkle learns of the possible return of the villainous Nightmare Moon, she attempts to inform her mentor of the impending concern. However, her mentor, the ruler of Equestria Princess Celestia herself, is more concerned with her student's overly studious tendencies and sends her to the nearby town of Ponyville to make some friends. With the prophesied time of Nightmare Moon's return fast approaching, can Twilight Sparkle find a way to stop it before the friendly residents of Ponyville drive her crazy?
