Do Transformers have sex?

I by no means intend this topic to be dirty, but a valid question, they are in fact sentient beings who reproduce...in some fashion, there are male and female transformers, some have been referred to as brothers and sons to others, which indicates some family structure, and one example from G1 comes to mind when the Decepticon Octane had some VR fantasy that leads to him crashing his ship, his fantasy involved the robot pictured below.

I dunno what to make of robot reproduction, but if anyone has a thought or opinion, or actual knowledge of how the autobots and decepticons reproduce, please comment, and keep it to a pg-13 level.

@SSJjanemba:  some do, it's all dependent upon how they were designed (Data from Star Trek as an example), and since Transformers seem to have romantic relationships the question is valid

There's no real way to answer this.

The only evidence either way is that joke episode you mentioned, but that's a joke episode. There are practically no female Transformers which to me suggests that the reproduce like ants or something (1 female born every blue moon and no sex), or they are made and the people making them hate females so they rarely ever make them... but none of that is legit. Transformers is designed to sell toys to boys so that in itself could explain the lack of females.

Bottom line: like tootsie pops, the world will never know.

I actually found a suitable answer, Two Cybertronians combine parts of their spark to create a new Transformer's spark/Vector Sigma can create new Transformers.... 
@sickVisionz: There are actually quite a few female Cybertronians, aside my list of named female Transformers, there are many others seen as background characters over the years but were not named. A lot of people think Arcee, Elita-1, Black Arachnia, Airazor, and Airachnid are anomalies but that is not the case. Most female Cybertronians are simply left un-named.

@Sonata: Yeah, robot sex is popular among a small percentage of writers/artists that pop up high on Google search results. It is funny how much the new series validates this question I asked, the Transformers in the Prime series say that they "Cant simply build new parts" and that their internal workings are "biology not technology" so there is evidently some Cybertronian reproduction, gestation, birth, and growth process.... Of course doubt we will ever get the full answer out of official media.
