Shepherd gathered all the mass he could spare, reaching his parts together. He could hear Ariana crying out in the audience. That would not do. He couldn't allow it. His eyes and ears dissolved for the tiny bit of extra flesh it granted him, and when that wasn't enough, he squirmed blindly towards his limbs. Deaf and blind, he never saw or heard the final strike.

He just felt it as Gen's foot connected with the side of his head and he went sailing, striking the barrier with such force it bent and cracked. With a final crack, it shattered, and he fell with its shards. With the tiniest of thuds, he was officially out of the ring. It was over.

Gen dragged himself out the arena as the people was cheering his name, he would get scolded by his mentor for getting so beated up, but he felt good, this being the first time in months he could use his Fighting Spirit in an honest to god fight. More fights were coming his way, and not all coming from the Spirit Boxing Federation, but some related to the Medal on his lapel

Shepherd gathered his remaining parts and disappeared with Ariana in the noise of the crowd. From now on, it was normal boxing for him. Other supers were too dangerous, and his powers were hidden easily enough. In the meantime, he'd have to regain mass and gain money another way. Still, he wished the best for this enemy. They had displayed skill and even some strategy when they figured out his resistance to physical harm. "Good luck to you, Gen the Spirit Boxer. But god help you if you ever attract the attentions of my brother." He said to nobody but the night, and with that, he and Ariana left.

Gen was once again fit for a fight, after travelling for a week to his mentor home and inform him about the fight, his abnormal recovery rate allowed him to be in top shape once again. This was partly thanks to his own inhuman energy and the Fighting Spirit awakened by his first mentor Takeda. He got chewed out by his new mentor for the pitiful state he ended up after fighting. His new teacher preached the importance of always avoiding the attacks with the least possible movement and only attacking when the moment was correct. He was quite opposite to Gen’s style, as the Spirit Boxer always kept moving and attacked relentlessly, while his mentor, which even with his immense size and musculature, was more in the lines of a contemplative master.

After a long session of being scolded for his lack of restraint and skill, Gen was told to go back into the arena and fight again, this time with better results. And as a penance, his master took most of the cash he won fighting. The Spirit Boxer sighed as he looked inside his wallet, depressed upon the realization that he didn’t even had enough money to return to the Inazuma Academy, as he was almost at the end of his sabbatical month, a month he asked specially to come to Osaka and get some pocket change, money now in the hands of his Mentor, that surely was spending it all in booze and women, or something like that, most of the martial arts masters in manga did that, why wouldn’t he do it as well. Gen was practicing some footwork in the locker room before he was called into the ring.

-LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!! A WEEK AGO WE WITNESSED THE RETURN OF THE BOXING PRODIGY OF THE UNDERWORLD, THE ROARING LION KING!!!!! GEN SHISHIOH!!!!!- The audience cheered with mad glee, as they remembered the incredible fight last time, when Gen used a technique they never saw and shoot a torrent of golden light from his fist. –YOU HAVE SEEN HIM FIGHT, YOU HAVE SEEN HIM STRUGGLE, YOU HAVE SEEN HIM BLEED, BUT TONIGHT, WE ARE GOING TO SEE IF HE CAN START A WINNING STREAK!!!!!- The announcer was shouting his lungs off, he was still thrilled after witnessing Gen’s fight last time, and now he was effervescent with emotion to watch another, not only to see Gen, but to also see his opponent, that surely would prove to be really interesting as a newcomer in the Underground Ring.

Aoki Minato was thrilled with Gen, each time the Young Spirit Boxer appeared in the ring it meant money for him, some fights more and he would invite the former delinquent to become an official member of the Fighting Circuit, as new arenas were about to be opened in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hong Kong. The God of Gambling was opening franchises and inviting any Hidden World denizen he could find, only to give his audience bigger and better fights to bet on. As he thought of it Gen was entering the ring while lifting his arms in response to the public cheers. He was prepared for anything, but in the Hidden World that meant almost nothing.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan walked into the ring and waved at all the spectators. Mostly to the classmates of his mixed into the group. He removed his school jacket then tossed it to a boy around his age wearing similar clothes to signify him being from the same school. He stretched happily not really understanding the situation he was in, but still had a determined glint in his eyes. "So if I win I get money," he asked then stood up straight followed by him popping his back. He then shifted himself into a defensive stance flawlessly like water as if he had been practicing it for years, but in fact he had just saw it the other night. "I don't like to hit first so you can attack me first," he said then motioned for the boxer to attack.

@chaosknight:

-Ok, suit yourself- Gen didn’t like him from the start, he seemed one of those pretty boys that didn’t know what a true fight was. In a split second his Fighting Spirit coursing through his blood stream the Spirit Boxer used the Raijin Step, with the accustomed Sonic Boom accompanying his lunge. He charged forward releasing a barrage of fists, jabs, straights, hooks and uppercuts with incredible focus and precision. Gen knew he couldn’t match his mentor in style but at least he could take what seemed right to him and combine it to his own style. The accustomed shower of punches he tends to threw but now with impeccable aim, trying to attack the weak spots in the enemy defense. He quickly retreated backwards using the same sound speed shattering footwork so he could prepare a defense or another offensive.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan put up a quick guard and blocked everything but the last attack which sent him flying and he landed flat on his back. He jumped back up and then wiped a thin trail of blood off the side of his mouth. "Wow that actually hurt a bit," he said then stretched a bit popping his bones while doing it. "Now time to give you what you gave me," he declared then took off at full speed delivering the exact same moves used against him not missing a single beat on it. He also added a high powered kick by placing his palm flat on the ground then swinging his body for added momentum to the kick. He then flipped away and landed in a crouched position waiting.

@chaosknight:

Gen swayed most of the attacks and reacted swiftly enough to block the kick raising his guard in response. He instantly noticed that Ethan was copying his every move, but only his moves, he also copied his rhythm and technique. He was almost equal in the speed department but clearly the power and sharpness of his fists needed help. The Spirit Boxer had become a really good judge of fighting prowess during his long dojo challenge marathon and he quickly caught on Ethan body being less bulky and more flexible a clear indication of a swift and acrobatic fighting style. He using Gen aggressive frontal assault was a bit counter intuitive for his body type, something the former Delinquent also noticed. Even if he could copy the mold of the movements he couldn’t copy either his fighting spirit or his instincts.

Gen was pushed back, leaving a faint trail of his soles over the mat. The last kick seemed much more akin to what he could gather from Ethan body type. The Spirit Boxer cracked his neck and did some quick rotor exercises with his shoulders, always keeping his guard up. For a moment he seemed to be about to charge forward, but at the last moment, just before stepping towards his opponent Gen broke his focused face that turn into a expression of boredom. He loosened his guard and stood up-tight, without crouching. He spitted over the mat and sighed. – Fuck! – He paced around Ethan while keeping his distance, his silence was ominous. –You know what? I fucking hate your type!- The Audience seemed to be interested on what Gen was saying and kept silence.

-I have fought at least a hundred different martial artists and I always find fuckers like you that aren’t really good at fighting, they are just fucking copycats. – Gen spitted again into the mat and blocked one of his nostrils with his thumb, blowing off mucus out of the mat, over the ropes. – Fight like a man instead of being a fucking mirror, or I will shatter you until you cannot reflect anybody else.- Gen put some emphasis on his words by making a fist in front of his face and unable to control himself started to let out Fighting Spirit. He was focused and in control, channeling his anger and battle thirst into his bloodstream, using it as a vehicle for his Fighting Spirit. A thin yet hyper concentrated layer of this energy covered him as a blue highlight of his body. He was filtering it through his skin until pure Spirit reached the surface. His eyes also were full of Fighting Spirit.

Gen was seemingly steaming up, as his Fighting Spirit crackled on the surface of his skin. He knew the enemy could be much powerful but still duplicating the enemy was no insult to him, but an insult to fighting. Releasing a mouthful of steam as he spoke – You’re going down punk.- Gen rushed forward but instead of a straight line he took a more indirect approach using a chain Raijin Steps Zig-zagging towards Ethan, leaving afterimages behind him. This was Raijin Phantom Step, another modification of his now already signature footwork. The real Gen, one of 5 charged forward and slid into his enemy range going low, aiming for an uppercut to shatter his guard then to destroy him with a Ghost Jab Hurricane directly to the chest

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan rolled out of the way of the attacks then flipped to the other side of the ring. "Fine I will show you a original move," he said with a smirk. He jumped up onto the ropes and balanced there. He then grabbed onto the ropes and launched himself and shot at Gen throwing punches that constantly got faster and stronger. Once he lost his air he landed he landed and kept attacking. His last attack was a hammer shot using his full strength. He then jumped away and waited for a counter attack.

@chaosknight:

Gen saw his cocky opponent move to the side to avoid his attack, seemingly the after images were completely useless, this could mean that Ethan power of copying was not a psychic skill but a purely physical, surely related to his eyes, as he could easily distinguish the Spirit Boxer from the after images. Gen had become very adept to learn from his opponents skills, not only thanks to his training trip but also thanks to his mentor and the unorthodox amount of different enemies he fought since he became a Spirit Boxer. The Hellscraper for example was an incredible experience, yet for him it grew boring, fighting in teams wasn’t his style.

Older more experienced warriors would fake the battle thirst and rage to lure enemies in into a fight, Gen was simply that Hot-Blooded and wasn’t afraid to show it. He stood firmly when Ethan took impulse on the ropes and shut his guard tightly, leaning forwards and spinning his hip in reaction to the Copycat Warrior attacks. He stood there taking it all thanks to his Spirit Enhanced muscles and bones as each blow pushed him backwards, dragging his feet over the mat. He would end up with some bruises but they were worth it if his current tactic worked. If Ethan could react to him moving at sound speed, what would the Mimicking Fighter if Gen moved much faster than that.

The Former Delinquent took almost all the hits curled up in his guard but for the last he released the protection created from the Fighting Spirit over his legs and when the attack came instead of being pushed a bit he was launched backwards. Gen stood uptight thanks to his still reinforced upper body taking the hit and ironically copying Ethan strategy as he was received by the ropes that curved, almost reaching to their breaking point and sling shoot Gen towards the Copycat Warrior at enormous speed. Gen reinforced his legs again using Maisetsu-Kyo and with his enormous momentum used the Raijin Step once, with a quick stomp in the floor.

Gen broke the speed of sound, almost doubling it, once again a shockwave made the ring tremble and the reinforced steel plating of the pit vibrate as the Spirit Boxer went straight for Ethan. But Gen knew from recent experience that a simple lunge wouldn’t work so as he was in mid-air the Former Delinquent spun mid-air and while keeping one hand guard over his head, chin and part of his chest Gen threw his newest technique -The Volcanic Liver BUSTER!!!- as he shouted, aimed to Ethan liver. Let’s be clear, Gen is moving fast enough to be unseen not only by the crowd but also by the cams

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan got serious immediately once he realized his opponent was aiming to kill. He moved the blow away so it just grazed him. "That was dangerous," he said growling and grabbing his side. "Alright I guess I have to stop kidding around," he said and stood straight up then closed his eyes. He then opened them and they had a frightening amount of determination in them. "Alright I am going to finish you off," he declared and nodded towards the crowd mostly to a particular person and waited for the nod from one of his classmates who was a healer. He bent his knees and put his palm outward. He pressed down on his legs and ran forward clearing the entire arena in milliseconds. He jumped and shot out his palm like a bullet aiming for Gen's heart ready to pierce right through his body along with his heart and come out the other side in a fluid movement. He also used his other arm to attempt knock away any guard he put up. He spat out blood and blood shot out of old wounds while he did this.

@chaosknight:

Gen was surprised Ethan took his attack and didn’t puke blood, the only time he managed to hit his mentor with this amazing body blow he forced the Old Martial Master into puking precious blood. He whistled in admiration as he took some distance and loosened his articulations. Ethan started talking and Gen’s smiled started to widen with each word. At last his opponent was going to fight seriously, he hated slow starters, the Spirit Boxer loved brutal battles, from start to finish, against slow starters this wasn’t something that tend to happen, as most of them either wanted to measure him before fighting for real or were arrogant Kung Fu Guys. The Copycat Warrior declared his ultimatum and Gen slasher smile let through this words – At long fucking last the kiddy gloves are off-

Ethan jumped with amazing grace and agility, his movements didn’t have wasted motions, a single fluid attack that aimed to destroy Gen’s chest. One hand as a claw to swat the Spirit Boxer guard and the other a palm ready to punch a hole through the Former Delinquent ribcage and lay waste to his innards. Gen didn’t think; an open palm was something that made him react by instinct. Instead of guarding or avoiding he took another choice, since the lunge was almost telegraphed towards his chest, the Spirit Boxer focused the burning energy coursing his veins on his fist and met Ethan attack with a dense Spirit Straight. This was also a product of Gen’s body telling his brain that blocking was out of the option, as the bruises from previous attacks were starting to swell and guarding would become painful and idiotic.

Gen threw a punch with enough strength to wreck a tank or battle cruise armor. The Fighting Spirit crackled like a bonfire of blue flames that not only increased strength, but also durability, speed and most important punching power with raw spiritual energy. He shouted as his fist reached Ethan’s palm – Open a palm in front of a boxer and get a fist in exchange! Perfect training!- The shockwave of the attacks colliding was more than enough to push Gen backwards and curving the ropes. The soles of Gen’s shoes almost reached melting point and he left drift marks over the red surface of the ring. The Spirit Boxer fist hurt like hell and the skin of his knuckles got peeled off, as the bandages and gloves vanished much earlier as both palm and fist were almost striking each other.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan grabbed onto his arm to stready it. He could feel it fracture slightly but he didn't let it show on his face or his movements. "I'm sorry I'm holding back but I'm still in physical therapy from my last big fight which was of much greater scale. You are a much better oponent thought since we haven't destroyed any planets yet," he apoligized then grimaced slightly in pain as he felt another old wound try to open up again. He ignored the pain then slammed his foot on the ring to destroy it in a attempt to throw Gen off balance then he jumped away and the hopped into the air and sent a spin kick using the centrivical force of the spinning of his hips to added momentum to his kick as he aimed for his head.

@chaosknight:

Gen hand was dead; he sacrificed it for the rest of the combat but blocked the dangerous attack of Ethan and also damaged him. The Copycat Warrior revealed that he was still in recuperation from a previous fight and said something about blowing up planets that Gen didn’t care much about. The Spirit Boxer was ready; he still had his good one somewhat healthy and could keep fighting if he took care of not using his right hand, still he accepted the pain and he closed his right hand into a fist, trying to fool Ethan of still having it working. The Mimicking Fighter stomped the ring hoping to break it, but thankfully under the fabric and soft padding it laid a steel plate similar to the ones in the walls of the pit that towered over the ring, thus his attack wasn’t effective. The ring was built to resist fights like this, he caused a small tremor, but considering the amount of balance Gen should have in relation to a regular boxer this was a minor discomfort.

Ethan connected his next movement with the same fluid motion as always, but that incredible skill, surely copied from masters and other skilled warriors gave him a weakness, his movements were so clean and fluid that any opponent with enough experience on him could easily read attacks that had such impeccable timing and motions. Ethan had the skills of really good fighters, but the lack of experiencing them in the flesh, only copying them, no matter how good he was at it, made them look mechanical. Gen took full advantage of it as he crouched under the attack, dashed into the enemy range and with a Spirit Enhanced leap he aimed for Ethan’s unprotected chin with a powerful Spirit Technique. His Spirit took the form of an oriental dragon opening its fangs at the Former Delinquent wrists and exhaling blue flaming Fighting Spirit that spun with the fist as axis forming a dread producing drill.

- Dont' leave such big openings copycat! DRILL DRAGON…… UPPERCUT!!!!!!!- Gen shouted as he ran, started roaring his technique as he jumped and finished the phrase as he went for the kill.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: Ethan was sent flying by the attack, but he was able to save himself by grabbing the ropes and swinging back in. He fell onto his hands and knees to catch his breath then glared at Gen, "Last attack," he whispered then pulled back his fist and then suddenly the whites of his eyes showed and he fell over with a senbon needle poking out of his neck that was hidden by his hair. Then the person who he threw his jacket to hopped into the ring and picked him up efficiently removing the needle unseen. He then walked out with Ethan and was followed out by a bunch of other people wearing similar clothes. One of the being a girl who grabbed hold of Ethan's as they walked and his wounds started healing. "sorry he troubled you," she called waving Gen goodbye.

@chaosknight:

Gen stood there stupefied for a moment as his opponent ran away from the fight, but that moment of surprise soon was replaced by pure anger and his Spirit, until now working through his bloodstream thanks to the Maisetsu-Kyo, turned outwards in a powerful and roaring blue flame that grew big enough to reach the ceiling of the Underground Arena, “scorching” the ropes of the ring, that didn’t burn instead the Fighting Spirit Released compressed them and forced them to turn into dust. The Spirit Boxer roared in anger and started to insult the exiting Ethan and company.

-Sorry for the troubles!? Sorry!? You mother******! Come back here and face me you ******* coward! You and your group of ***** that need a massive **** in their *** before getting up at the morning! **** you and our ****** entourage! you uncle******* piece of horse ****!-

The Boxer started punching the ground with constantly increasing strength, to release his frustration of losing the opportunity to fight a proper Martial Artist for once, like the old days, as seemingly lately he haves being fighting with strange things rather than proper opponents, proper in the sense of being knowledgeable of Martial Arts or some sort of combat. After he hit for a last time the scared announcer declared his victory by default and Gen left still insulting between his teeth and growling.

@Kuma_From_Argentina: There was a knock on the changing room door. How long was this guy going to waste everyone's time like this?

Eventually, the key to the room was procured and the door opened. Guy must have hung himself when he realised just who he was going to be pitted up against.

But, surprisingly, the security team were met with the a warm ocean breeze. Instead of the changing room they expected, they found a beach. White sands compressed under their Loakes shoes as they entered, wondering just what the hell was going on.

"Oh, hey." A young man said to the left of the group. Lying back on a hammock between two palm trees was Gen's next opponent, a scrawny looking kid named Alvin Himmelskarte.

The team saw the gentle signs of muscles on his arms and exposed belly, and mildly thought that this match just got interesting. Sure, this kid was going to get obliterated by Gen, but if he could create beaches out of nowhere, then that might be a mildly amusing gimmick to give the beatdown some flavour.

"You're up, Himmelskarte." The man in the front said, and the relaxing young man swung his legs off the Hammock and walked towards the team, buttoning his white shirt up as he approached them. He wore knee-length shorts and no shoes, stepping onto the cold metal floor in his bare feet as he approached the ring.

"Introducing, a man who calls himself the Waster!" The announcer said as Alvin stepped out into the spotlight. "A man who loves to relax above all else, Alvin Himmelskarte!!"

@SamJaz:

After the last two fights Gen was ready for almost anything, emphasis on almost, he did the usual routine with the addition of the new steps his mentor added to it. He started with some stretching, then shadowboxing and finally meditation until the fight was about to start. Well we could say he was meditating when truthfully the only thing he truly does is stay silent and try not to think about punching the face in of his next opponent. Yet that could be argued to be the closest thing Gen could get to truly peace of mind.

Either way it managed to work for a bit, but the moment he was called to the ring that calmness turned into expectation, battle hungry anticipation for the incoming fight. He may never dominate the secrets of meditation and contemplation, but he will still pack a mean punch and a good disposition to maim his enemies into submission. Gen walked with fast pace, while he stretched and warmed up his shoulders and fingers, he had started to notice that the use of Maisetsu-Kyo was allowing his body to heal at astounding rates and each time his bones broke or muscles ruptured they came back stronger and sturdier.

He jumped the ropes as the announcer shouted his name and the crowd went insane. He had managed not only to regain his former popularity but also increased it after the last two fights. Gen was aiming for the comeback hat-trick beating the newest piece of fresh meat they threw into the mat to feed his hungry fists and heart that starved for battle, but what he found wasn’t pleasing at all, as he fought alongside the young man in front of him and he didn’t want to fight against him, yet he had no other choice. He needed the money and he needed to keep up his rep to get bigger and better fights.

-So we meet again wimp-kun, still avoiding fights with your fancy powers? - Gen threw a blood thirsty glare towards Alvin, who he met in the demented Hellscraper. The Spirit Boxer had a basic knowledge of Alvin’s powers, but still Gen was more in the punching than the thinking business, to his mentor chagrin -This time you’re in my battlefield, so the moment you try your vanishing act I’m going to beat the ever living crap out of you.- Gen was a bit needlessly intimidating in order to make Alvin think twice before crossing him.

Without anymore delay the Former Delinquent rushed forward, aiming to finish this in a quick and painless, as humanly possible for Gen (ergo not much), knockout. The Spirit Boxer was in Maisetsu-Kyo mode and used his signature Raijin Step to shorten the distance but used another one, with much shorter longitude to move to the side and pummel the Teleporting Teen in the side of his head, Gen was pulling his punches, using only strength enough to knock out a regular human, since he didn’t remember if Alvin had superhuman stats.

@Kuma_From_Argentina:

Alvin knew Gen's power, and could never forget the way he obliterated that salt monster when he entered that calmed state where he was best able to use his spirit. So his plan was to keep Gen from thinking, not a particularly difficult task, but one that needed a lot of concentration.

So, the first thing Alvin did as soon as Gen charged was to through a fistful of sand into the boxers eyes and mouth. While he didn't have the sheer inhuman strength and speed that SamJaz, Kelly or Cole had, Alvin had climbed out of lava more than once, so he could take the beating Gen was so eager to give.

That didn't mean he was willing to receive the boxer's gift, however, and used the distraction to step aside and create a portal under the boxer's front foot as he punched, dropping his leg into a pit of quicksand and, with a second portal, covered the ring with warm seawater and dangled a lionfish by the tail and taunted the Boxer.

"Know what this does, right?" Alvin asked, careful not to get stung himself.

Post by Kuma_From_Argentina (6,628 posts) See mini bio Level 13

@SamJaz:

Gen rushed forward, Alvin as always tried to employ a cheap trick, yet the first one he tried failed as the Spirit Boxer side stepped with the Raijin Step, and unluckily Gen underestimated Alvin reaction time, which allowed the mercenary to create a portal under his support foot when he was attacking. His leg fell into a swampy substance, surely some kind of quicksand, while another portal filled the Pit with seawater, possibly tropical in nature. The Former Delinquent saw the fish in Alvin’s hand, a fish brought through another of those pesky portals.

Gen didn’t even knew the freaking fish as Alvin asked, biology, or any other subject if that matters, wasn’t his forte in High School so he didn’t know about the poisonous nature of the Lion Fish, yet as he struggled to pull his leg out the Quicksand he remembered the words of his mentor, one time right after the old Master beat the crap out of him with clever tricks to force him into difficult positions. He could remember as if this happened a week ago…. That it did happen.

“You worthless brat, I tried to taught you the importance of strategy in battle but you only care for punching the opponent not out thinking him. Well I think I was asking too much of a muscle brained kid, you should use always the plan B for this kind of situations, as if you’re able to beat somebody in a brain battle then it would surely be the dumbest opponent anybody has fought” Tough words from a tough master, yet it was exactly what Gen needed to hear as the “Plan B” was more suited for his skills and preferences.

As you can guess the Plan B consist in breaking through the traps only with brute overwhelming might. Gen was cool with that, so as Alvin finished speaking Gen with his accustomed “good” manners replied –Oh no! I know what that fish does! - With a faked fear on his tone. He pulled his leg in one single motion and without stomping he punched the mat with all his might, pushing the water all around him towards the walls –It’ll get shoved right inside your ass! Alongside my fist!- He shouted as the Saltwater got expulsed to the sides of the Arena drenching all the audience and flooding the seats. It carried enough punch to knock down an unsuspecting human.
