A mysterious organization with members are known as The Gentlemen. They seem to lack a real name or refuse to use it and rather use a naming system based on the color of their clothes. Each of them supposedly wields extraordinary powers and is an expert in many different areas of science. The Organization itself seems to have a huge net of influence, an absurd amount of resources and a lot of manpower to support their plans. They are very well organized and act unnoticed from the shadows. Though at first a mystery, their true goal and nature were recently revealed. They introduce themselves as guardians of humanity. They existed in one form or another since the very beginning of mankind, some even speculate that they caused evolution to take that specific path. Ever since then they acted as guides to humans through history. Not only adverting possible dangers, but shaping the world to create what people know today. All major discoveries in human history. May it be language, religion, fire, architecture, agriculture and domestic animals, civilization, mathematics, physics and even more recent discoveries such as engines electricity, many technological devices and medical achievements. Not only plain tools and technology, but they even influenced them development of art, music, culture and literature as they saw fit. Though they make progress surprisingly quick, they do not flood the world with sudden jumps in complexity, but rather apply the changes over long periods of time. One of their greatest virtues is that they seemingly don't have an agenda behind this. They do not have a grand scheme to establish a new world order or to take power for themselves, they do it for the very sake of humans. Furthermore, all of them seem to be devoid of such huge ambitions. They do not seek, fame, power or recognition. All their discoveries are just passed down to humans they see to be fit to make good use of the knowledge, those people then become the great scientists, artists, doctors and inventors of the human race. The Gentlemen are certain that public recognition and a free display of power corrupts and makes them sway from their cause, which is why in the end they prefer to act from the shadows and avoid taking any credit for what they do.

Though certainly holding well intentions and seemingly no malice in their actions, the Gentlemen do have a darker more negative side. That is their readiness to experiment and accept the results without question even if they may be bad. For that purpose they might release a deadly illness to see what effect it may have on the human population. And even if the results in that case are completely disastrous and nearly mean the end of the human race, they do not backtrack and correct the experiment itself (despite having the power to do so). They embrace the result, learn from it and do everything in their might to control the results and fix the problem that was caused. Yet another sin is hidden in that mentality. All of the Gentlemen have the ability to completely detach themselves from the humanity they hold so dear and serve faithfully. If they believe that what they do is for the greater good than any action can be justified. Whether it's killing a child or committing genocide, they will do it with a emotionless face with not a spark of sorrow or remorse because in the end the action itself is meaningless, only the goal it leads to is what truly matters.

Though their global cause is clear and revealed, their current short term goal is left somewhat unexplained. All that is known is that they want Aliester Crown's magical gloves, the Filou which is why he is their main target. That is also the reason why his girlfriend Clare was killed, to spark his anger and have him follow them, making coming into conflicts with him much easier.

The Gentlemen

The leaders of the organization. They do not have a real hierarchy, that is every single Gentleman has the same authority as any other and they respect each other equally. They still do have a general idea as to who the most powerful and who the weakest of them is, but that doesn't seem to affect their interaction with each other and internal disputes are unheard of. Despite the fact that they are all equal and their strength does not affect their standing inside their organization, their personalities do determine their activities. For an instance during meetings Mr. Green is the type of guy who sleeps through it without ever raising his voice while Mr. Red is considered the first among equals, the effective leader as he always takes the initiative and actively puts out ideas for the best course of action. Though each and every acts on their own and even has their own base, they do cooperate and share information with each other. Despite the difference in personality and temper between all of them as well as a different approach as to how situations should be handled, there seems to be no internal conflict and they all share a common goal. There most likely exists a single true leaders to whom they all report to and serve under. It is unclear if they are human, though it is speculated that they at the very least were at one point in their life.

Despite what their looks suggest, they are far beyond human capabilities. Their speed, durability, strength and endurance are of absurd proportions, in complete contrast to their body build. While each and every one of them have their unique set of powers they do share common abilities. Those include immortality, regeneration, resistance to poison, illness, aliments and other more specific afflictions of the supernatural kind. Gentlemen also lack any human needs such as food, water or sleep or even functioning organs. They can freely shapeshift and teleport and have extensive knowledge on all fields of science, alchemy and magic allowing them to create marvelous machines and more importantly minions and servants in the form of homoculi. They also displayed feats of telepathy. Besides the general power set and the unique features that come with it they also have something called Mansion. A Mansion is the ability to possess a pocket dimension acting as their own world, defined by their powers, personality and needs. A twisted land where the Gentleman rules and is best suited for their powers. The Gentleman can freely retreat to that land whenever they need, but for others to access it (without being dragged there by a Gentleman) they have to find a physical portal leading to it, usually located in a Gentleman's real world mansion. The pocket dimensions are usually massive in size, entire worlds as big as countries or even planets. They are the perfect place to lead a long war or play a tedious game of hide and seek with the enemy.

Mr. Black was the first Gentleman to reveal himself to Crown and other members of FCL at that time. He is fairly handsome man with golden eyes, palely gray skin and medium long, slicked back, wavy, black hair, hiding under a black top hat. As his name suggests he wears a black suit paired up with a white shirt and gloves. Mr. Black's personality is surprisingly friendly and cheerful. He's very open towards other people and enjoy engaging in conversations. Because of his unusual appearance he seems to be very fond of using his shapeshifting ability very often. Though friendly, he doesn't let his personality get in the way of his work and he'll be more than happy to kill his new "friends" if needed. Mr. Black appears to take promises and deals rather seriously. He seems to try his best to avoid classic villain cliches, thinking that it makes him look like the bad guy even though he's not. Besides all of his little quirks he has a love for pudding of all things, sweets in general and seemingly all things cute, especially dolls. He has the habit of using the word "little" a lot, sometime even in contexts where it does not make any sense.

His powers are connected to voodoo dolls which let him control his enemies and inflict harm upon then. It's worth mentioning that it does not only work on people but also on animals and even on inanimate objects. He is capable of casually pulling the dolls and replicas out of his coat after studying the target for some time. A direct extension is the ability to quickly create minions out of puppets which make for great henchmen and guards. He is fond of using a giant purpose butterfly for movement. His other core ability is the projection of fears and nightmares. Mr. Black knows all fears his enemy has and can make them manifest in one way or another. Whether they be people, animals, physical objects or even abstract things like events and situations.

His Mansion is seemingly endless black space with crooked trees, streets, deep water lurking everywhere and twisted bent buildings with a few streetlights around. It strips one's mental defenses, completely exposing them to fear even to those they had already overcome. Of course being a land where Black is lord the abilities and powers of it twist and bend to his needs and are not fixed. For him the possibilities are endless.

Interestingly enough he seems to not care about power or strength, or even improving himself beyond his current form.

Mr. Red is the second Gentleman who appeared, though unlike Mr. Black he hasn't even formally introduced himself and his name is known through his clothes only. Compared to Black he's a much bigger mystery as he has not spoken more then a single word and hasn't done many things to completely showcase his personality. His appearance is that of a middle aged man with long straight blond hair. He wears a red coat over a brown vest and trousers as well as a red top hat. Sometimes he walks around with a cane which he can produce out of thin air. His face is defined by very sharp blocky lines, giving him a certain charm. He seems to be very fond of winking and grinning.

Mr. Red is extremely arrogant, self centered and egoistic (as much as his position allows him). He firmly believes that whatever he does is justified simply by the fact that he is a Gentleman, not taking responsibility for anything. In the end, in his own eyes humans should be thankful for everything he does as it's for their own good, even if it may be killing their loved ones or themselves. He is the most active Gentleman, actively leading each meeting and giving out tasks and orders if the real leader is not present. Despite that he does not consider himself above the other Gentlemen and he respects every single one of them, sometimes even showing platonic friendly love for his companions, it is just that he likes to take the initiative. He is the one who has the least distractions, hobbies and interests. Completely dedicate to their cause and always serious.

Though at first he appeared to be cruel and sadistic in his killing of Clare that was in fact only a facade to agitate Crown and the only reason it was him who killed her in the first place was because the other ones were either busy or not willing to. He is extremely obsessed with everything being done according to rules and on time and is rather responsible.

His powers allow him to freely play around with atoms, make the disappear or appear. This in theory lets him create or destroy anything with a mere thought, start or stop processes or change them accordingly. There no limit to the possible applications and he makes full use of them. His mansion Tale of Creation and Judgment is endless starry space, usually with staircases formed around stars and giant atoms. It greatly amplifies his powers and furthermore gives him more room to play with them. It's unique powers are mostly situational because of the absurd range of applications his powers already have.

Mr. Brown is a middle aged man wearing a brown suit, wide brim fedora hat, white shirt and blue necktie. His most distinctive features are the smoke that accompanies him, a cigar in his mouth, piercing green eyes, a thin moustache and most of all his unusual shark teeth like grin. He has the habit of appearing out of thing air without a warning. His personality is that of a focused and calm man, speaking reasonably but always with a sleek slimy voice, suggesting that he's using foul play on purpose, as if to irritate or provoke people. He changes his speech patterns to suit his needs and is not so attached to specific behaviors like the others. He has also show that he is not one bit above lying, as he told Crown that he is the lowest in the Gentlemen of hierarchy and that he is often disrespected by the others.

Both turned out to to be lies and Mr. Brown openly admitted himself. In the end he still managed to remain reasonably polite. He is the first Gentleman to have voiced his disagreement with another one Mr. Yellow, even openly saying that he is thankful for his death at the hands of Hagane. Despite the differences Mr. Brown did respect him and allowed him to finish his own intentions and plans without obstructions even if Mr. Brown himself did not agree with them. Though fairly concentrated and serious when work is concerned he does have a lighter fun loving side, though it is a rather... mean one. His hobbies include smoking cigars where that is not allowed such as airplanes. Blowing smoke into the face of people who don't like it, his favorite victims being lung cancer patients and people in smoke free areas or even babies and animals. Another one of his childishly cruel hobbies is spying on a young couple about to buy a house, wait till they buy it and then smoke the entire house so badly that the poor owners can't get the smell of cigars out of the furniture for years to come and then videotape their reactions. Small things like that make his day.

His powers are all related to cigars and smoke. His own body is mostly intangible because of smoke. He can form it, shape it, change it's properties. He also has control over cigars, but in an unusual way. Namely, he can make them explode. Different types result in different explosions, he can also use them as flame throwers if needed. His Brown Mansion, Domain of the Cigar God seems like a war torn battlefield. The sky is red with clouds of smoke. Gray factories are scattered about with smoke coming from them. There are cigar mines, cigar airplanes dropping cigar bombs and cigar tanks... it's a cigar world. Mr. Brown is also somewhat omnipresent there as he can form from anywhere where smoke is.

He called himself the weakest Gentleman.

Mr. Blue is one of the oddest looking members of the Gentlemen. His appearance is odd because unlike all the other Gentlemen who appear as grown adults, Blue has the appearance of a child. Rather short with blue hair, blue eyes and a soft face. He wears a striped white shirt, a blue bow tie, a dark blue vest and even darker shorts. He also wears stocking and shoes. A unique feature is that his voice is not in synch with his body, that is he has the deep and raspy voice of a middle aged man. It's rather sooth in fact though can be creepy if paired up with the appearance itself. Though he looks harmless, many are fooled by his sweet appearance. Blue is a cynic to the core and a jerk if one may add. He doesn't see much value in anything and for him praise is rather unnecessary when one can points out the flaws in everything instead.

This has caused him to complain about everything and criticized everything. He's rather well aware of even minor mistakes and will often nitpick. Beyond that he's sarcastic and feels that stating his opinion is mandatory. Individuals, organizations, actions. No one is safe from his judgment and his sharp tongue. Though he can mercilessly criticize someone, he never actually physically assaults them because of it, even if he makes the claim that they deserve it. However, he is prone to playing games and often creating spots of hope for people only to make a fool out of them and humiliate them. He calls it "means for making people realize their own lack of worth" and it is reserved for the delusional and those with a superiority complex. So far he has most likely been the most openly cold Gentleman to make an appearance. Pointing out their lack of empathy for individual suffering as well as the fact that despite their differences, in terms of goals and morale all Gentlemen are the same. Furthermore he has not established what kind of relationship he has with the others, while other Gentlemen that appeared have given away at least a vague idea as to how they interact with the others on a non-professional basis. Strangely enough, though he is the Gentleman who talked the most and revealed the most, he is perhaps also the biggest enigma out of the bunch as he acts so strange. He has a distaste for almost everything as it's rather easy to point out the things he dislikes, yet has never shown any interest for anything he encountered. That rule is offset by one thing however. So is his whole character in fact. Mr. Blue, believes in true love. Any couple whom he sees as potential for true love will be forgiven things. Furthermore, he's ready to go out of his way to preserve true love. This is best shown in his treatment of Hagane Kumaga as well as the praise she gets from him, paired up with a variety of insults of course. It is his own little quirky trait which often comes out when in a situation like that. All things considered, if the situation is right Blue can be a great helper, if we can ignore his constant snarking and sour comments.

His powers as a Gentleman also defy his personality a bit. Blue can summon various beings from fairy tales. He usually uses books as portals. Not only that but he can also make up his own mythical creatures at will and create entire armies. He of course can also make use of powers related to those beings, fairy tales and events. It is a rather powerful ability as for him when fully concentrated his limitations are only his own imagination and the readiness the use it. He uses it for, scouting, combat, transport, as cheap minions, entertainment and even furniture in some cases as well as many more things. His mansion, Theater of Wonders is a world full of mythical beings from fairy tales. It is waste and filled with both dangers and adventures. The very path to the mansion itself however is a board game and on it as well as inside of his mansion there he can freely throw people into scenarios from Fairy Tales and even his own made up ones making it extraordinarily powerful.

Mr. Yellow is an unusually tall man with long black hair covering his face. He has very small lizard like green eyes with a piercing gaze. His skin is pale and his fingernails black and long. He wears a long yellow leather coat covering his whole body with a lot of fur around his neck, white in color. Personality wise he is very impulsive and aggressive. He is insensitive when it comes to others and has no patience whatsoever. In fact he lacks most of the qualities other Gentlmen have. He was also notorious for being OCD about certain things, such as never cutting his nails beyond a certain length and always arriving hours in advance to a meeting. Yellow was also known as the loner of the Organization, usually working alone and not interacting with others beyond meetings. In his free time he watched horror movies and played with his pet tarantula. His interaction with Crown also suggests that he was a sadist.

His powers probably were not developed completely as a Gentleman, as it is likely that he never absorbed the previous memories of all the other Mr. Yellows from the past. His powers revolved around specific spots in space being created marked purple in color like small purple dots. Two or more would be connected by links that appeared as purple string. As the dots move so do the links between them ripping anything to shreds. It can be used for many things such as catching objects or connecting two of them. The links can be both physical and metaphorical.

His Mansion, a giant neon City, devoid of life, everything linked to his throne allowing him to be aware of all and create links anywhere as he pleases.

He was killed by Hagane Kumaga in the RP Assault on Yellow Spider, where she more or less melted him away while he was holding his speech to Aliester Crown and SamJaz.

Homuculi and Codes

Though the Gentlemen have countless connections and way to both gets things done and get their hands on certain information, they still make use of two different kinds of servants to make life easier. First of all there are the Homoculi. A Homoculus is a replica of a human created through various means, may it be magic, alchemy or more sophisticated science. For some time Homoculi were the only type of servant the Gentlemen had. Even when heavily modified, they just slightly stronger than humans, ranging from peak human to very superhuman. They usually don't have any real powers beyond morphing limbs into bone blades and weapons to use as well as enchanted senses and night vision as well as a weak version of regeneration. At first they took time and resources to produce, but that was in the era before even the middle ages. Nowadays they can be produced in masses by any Gentleman with the snap of a finger. Furthermore they learned how to create various versions, adapted to be slimmer and agile, more bulky and strong and so on and forth. They work very well as canon fodders since they are so replaceable, yet still competent and effective enough to take care of jobs much faster and better than a human would. Not to mention that they lack a will of their own and thus they are completely loyal and can be relied upon. And while the relative weakness, when compared to superpowered individuals is crippling at times, they still excel at what they are supposed to do. Besides their natural abilities they are also equipped with various weaponry from the modern world as well as uniforms. Though they used to be both the high ranking individuals as well as the soldiers of The Gentlemen, they lost the former position to the second type of servant, Codes.

Codes are the next step artificial life. They get their name from how they are created. The Gentlemen create a code, much like a programming code or the code found in human DNA. The Code is called a Cipher. The Cipher is the being itself, all it needs at that point is a vessel. As such a Code can be anything. Even a toaster can be used as a fearsome overlord that rules over armies of Homoculi if a Cipher is inserted into him, however human shaped bodies gained through the same process as Homoculi are preferred for obvious reasons. The Codes are quite different from the Homoculi in many ways. For one at this point their creation takes time, which greatly reduces their numbers when compared to the Homoculi. However Codes have many advantages. For one they are much more customizable. Male, female, genderless, both genders, fertile or not, with all fives senses, without some or all, the personality can be changed as well. But the first problem occurs right there. Unlike Homoculi, Codes have a personality, one that can change, shift and adapt. They have a will and they have their goals. That makes them a lot more independent and allows them to separate themselves from the Gentlemen. The Gentlemen consider that a minor setback however. Codes tend to be a lot more powerful than Homoculi. Their strength, speed, agility, durability and other stats are much higher. In that sense a Code who's weakness is strength can easily defeat many bulky versions of Homculi without breaking a sweat. Furthermore combat oriented Codes always have their own set of powers, making the much like any other Hidden World member. Their powers directly come from the Cipher that gave them life and acts as their soul. Codes all have one ability in common, Decipher. The Decipher is the trump card of the Code. An ultimate technique executed using the very Cipher that was used to create them. They are directly ripped out of a Codes body to be used, usually the chest. The appearance of the Cipher varies from Code to Code. Though they all start out looking the same, they actually change and evolve over time to suit the Code. While exceptionally powerful, the Decipher is an attack that leaves the Code's weak spot open, the Cipher, which if destroyed ends the Codes life. As such caution is needed when using a Decipher. Some codes can have more than one Decipher and even Deciphers used to counter the weakness of the attack itself but those are rare. They act as the officers to the Gentlemen so to say, but often lead a double life and enjoy other things and form their own bonds and connections.

Euryale Tadiss is a rather old Code who since her creation has remained loyal to the Gentlemen, while steadily building up a a double life for herself as a boss in the Russian mafia. She chose the career path out of a simple reason, she saw herself having the most money, power and benefits in a position like that. Euryale is fair tall with smooth white skin. She has both blue eyes and blue hair, the latter going down all the way to her knees. She has very sharp facial lines, giving her a cunning and plotting appearance even when she's not trying, something that she learned to use to her own advantage. Euryale usually wears an all white uniform. It consists of stylish army cap, a shirt, a short jacket over it and sometimes a coat assuming the weather calls for one. A bit lower she wears a skirt and a high heeled boots reaching all the way up to her thighs, meeting her skirt and cover all of her legs except a narrow line between skirt and boots. She also has the habit of wearing white leather gloves. She also has a pair of weapons around her hip.

However, as white as her appearance might be, Euryale's personality is quite the opposite of that. Euryale is a borderline social Darwinist. Compassion is a word unknown to her and she never bothers with actually showing pity towards people. For her it's you reap what you sow and you get what you deserve. In that regard she is also very selfish, always placing herself on the first place. That doesn't mean she mistreats those close to her, just that she puts her own comfort over their well-being. She also by no stretch of the word tolerates screw ups and those who half-ass things. Though execution is not her favorite type of punishment, as she values every man and woman working under her, she is prone to torture or more conventional forms of punishment such as a payment cut. She is a hedonist in the sense that she seeks maximal physical and material pleasure for herself. However once more, she considers momentary pleasure and gratification only a temporal solution. She does aim to retire one day.... once she has gathered all the riches of the world, visited every place worth visiting, experienced every pleasure she could wish for, crushed each and every enemy she ever had and finally once she found the perfect man for herself. Given the unrealistic goals she will never achieve that state, however at the very least she is trying and she does seem to have a secret agenda of her own going on in the background. Euryale is the type of woman who never gives up and always asks for more. As such anyone who can provide her with "more", whether it be money, pleasure or even a decent fight will be rewarded. Whether it be in a good position, trust or even respect in the case of the last scenario. A rather unusual feature about Euryale is connected to her appearance. There is a black marking on her chest, like a tattoo. However many claim that it's part of her Cipher which has become so powerful that it's manifesting itself visually on her body. Though Euryale never confirmed or denied it, she does smirk whenever the topic is brought up.

Euryale's Cipher, Snake Tears Taste Bitter allow her to create and control various acids and poisons. She has a variety of ways when it comes using it. She can spit it out or make it ooze out from pores in her skin. The various types of venom and acids can be modified in a variety of ways, changing smells and color. Technically she can make poison that stops your heart in a matter of seconds, but make it smell, look and taste like water. The poisons can also be used on herself for positive effects, rather than negative ones though they often come with the price of pain. Euryale can solidify her poison or make it evaporate into a gas to make use of it. The most unique aspect is that her blood is also poisonous and very alive in fact. If spilled it will gather to form a snake that will assault and bite the attacker. The poison in her blood is the strongest one and in fact it's effect and strength change depending on the situation and well as Euryale's status. The more troublesome the situation is and the more in distress she is the stronger the poison becomes. Euryale also makes use of two weapons. A very powerful and sturdy rapier. It has segments in it and they are all connected by a special thread. The sword can be released and the segments form a sharp whip. It also has holes for poison to be poured through. The sword's design itself is interesting. The blade looks like it's covered in scales and has a golden shine to it. The handguard is complex and is a snake coiling around itself in all directions. The other weapon is a dagger. It's rather simple looking, the handguard being the head of a snake, with the blade coming out of the mouth. It's also designed to that it can catch blades in the mouth to trap and redirect.

Though Euryale's Decipher is unknown, given her age and position it can be assumed that it's powerful.

Magpie Ohod is a very young Code as his appearance age is most likely his actual age as well. It's hard to say how loyal he is because of that. Though he follows orders to a T, he also displayed a decent level of independence and has managed to form his own team very early on. His reason for doing that was rather simple however. He wants to help poor people. And what better way is there to do that than to take the good old righteous thief way and steal from the rich to give to the poor. Magpie's Ratway Runners counts a relatively low number of members today as it's a rather young team. Magpie himself doesn't mind and is thankful for the number of people that are currently serving under him. His team mostly consists of homeless and poor people he recruited himself. Some of them even worship him as a prophet. Magpie's appearance mostly fits with his character. He wears simple white robes, black trousers and goes barefoot except socks. He has a rather curious bob cut, his eyes are blue purple-ish and the lines of his face are unusually soft.

Everything on him suggest humbleness and compassion. Except the golden rings on his fingers, however they are directly connected to his Cipher and he usually hides them in his sleeves out of shame. Magpie is kind and compassionate. It's almost as if he could really feel the pain of those around him. He is quite a contradiction to the Gentlemen themselves, who refuse to pay any attention to individual suffering, Magpie will devoted himself to everything, from those who have survived the horrors of war to those that have a thorn stuck in one of their fingers. He treats his subordinates well and always provides for them. He sorta does believe that the ends justifies the means as he's ready to steal in order to help people, however he sees nothing wrong with that. Furthermore he does not exactly question any orders from the Gentlemen as long as he gets to help the poor in his free time. At times when outwitting an opponent his humble side can disappear to give rise to some sarcastic remarks and comments. Furthermore he can be childish at times as he's easy to entertain, laughing and clapping at simple magic tricks and con artists doing their show. Fitting with the name of his organization he also has a pet rat.

Magpie's Cipher, Child Emperor does not give him any real powers, however it does gran him the power to gran other powers. He can assign 7 different classes to people who accept it. Saber, Knight of the Sword. Lancer, Knight of the Spear. Archer, Knight of the Bow. Rider, Knight of the Mount. Caster, Knight of the Tome. Assassin, Knight of the Dagger. And Berserker, Knight of Madness. Each class essentially turns the individual into a warrior on the level of a Code. Their powers and abilities form based on the class itself as well as their personality. For each class in his service Magpie gets a golden ring, indicating the status of the person. If the person dies their ring rusts away. Magpie awards the classes to the best thieves of the Ratway Runners and often lets them make their own sub-guilds. Magpie himself has to rely on his Decipher for combat.

The Decipher Knighting, is useful in the sense that it only appears for a moment during activation, thus it does not expose itself. It grants Magpie the powers, abilities, skills and knowledge of all the 7 classes that have served under him recently. The Decipher can be considered decently powerful as it negates the weakness of a usual Decipher and it turns Magpie into a fearsome warrior.

Organization got explained more clearly with their goals and methods being explained.

The general relationship between all the Gentlemen explained and their powers are covered in more detail.
