Sketchinoda are a team of three reality warpers: Hagane Kumaga, Coleen Kurugi, and Alvin Himmelskarte. Each have various abilities and roles within the team. They are, officially, mercenaries, but a lack of brutality or actual knowledge of the business leaves them with little actual jobs to do, so they spend the majority of their time chilling out in their office, waiting for a client to come with a job that needs doing.
Despite the biological differences, it is often commented that they all have the same eyes despite the varying colours, as seen in the photograph above. They are all half-siblings, having been born of the same father, Jardsam Shinoda. As such, the are part of a species known as Shinodaborn.
The three of them were kidnapped at very young ages by an organisation named Getshinoda, a subsidiary of Ironside corporations, and were raised in a concentration camp with several other Shinodaborn until escaping in 2012. Since then, they struggled to make a living for themselves before meeting their elder brother, SamJaz, and taking leadership roles in the Empire. When not serving in the Empire, the three members of Sketchinoda seek out other Shinodaborn, hoping to keep them safe from their enemies and unite them in their cause.
Each Shinodaborn has abilities based around two emblems, and can summon their signature weapon, or their Sketch, at will. Their Sketch is unbreakable and has magical properties, and can only be wielded by themselves. This is a manifestation of their abilities as a Shinodaborn- a hybrid child of Jardsam Shinoda. As a species, each member has emblems and sketches, an immunity to telepathic and chromatic interference, and impressive healing rates, amongst other abilities.
As a Shinodaborn advances in their abilities, they are able to generate a second layer of skin that takes the form of body-hugging armour. Despite being of multiple colours, these are collectively known as a Carapace, and these can have varying abilities. All of them provide protection from the environment and in combat.
Listed here are only the few that affiliate themselves with the name, Sketchinoda, as well as a number of other Shinodaborn.
Hagane Crown (Kumaga)

Hagane Kumaga is the designated leader of the group. While not the most level headed, she is certainly the most self-motivated and courageous member of Sketchinoda. She has the ability to carry out any chemical reaction she desires, including reforming matter at an atomic level and converting energy into matter, and vice versa.
Her Sketch, Kodo Rasen, is a red lance that spirals into two prongs. It has the ability to make matter and energy spiral around it, making it a natural railgun when thrown. Rasen can also able to obtain the genetic data of any biological life form it pierces, allowing Hagane to create short-lived homunculi based on that life form.
Hagane has a near-photogenic memory, and is a huge database of scientific knowledge. Every chemical reaction or transmutation she performs is reliant on her own knowledge of chemistry and physics. She is able to carry out complex mathematical problems in her head at incredible speeds, which enables her to perform complex procedures, such as converting the surrounding energy and dust molecules into large physical matter and launching them at high speeds.
Personality wise, she is cool and calculating, despite her tendency to fly off the handle, earning her moniker 'Hag'. Her outbursts are usually shortlived, and are often kept inside and noticeable only to her teammates. She will always analyse a situation before making a decision, and will often use underhanded methods to ensure survival or success, though preferring to stay on the morally clean side of the line. She once supported the team's lack of income by working part-time as a college lecturer, already holding three PhD's in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.
Currently, she works as the head of the Inquisitors in her brother's Empire. As an inquisitor, her role is to be the blade turned inward- striking at corruption and treason wherever she finds it. A lot of this role involves running, climbing, leaping off tall buildings and being generally intimidating. This role has given Hagane incredible fitness, with and without powers, as well as an incredible eye for people. This instinct has led to the superstition that the inquisitors can read minds, and smell evil from a distance- a belief Hagane perpetuates to make people's discomfort easier to spot when in her robes.
The tools of her trade are two hidden blades on her wrists- capable of piercing armour and causing wounds that are impossible to heal through magical means. Each of these blades are hand-crafted by Hagane herself and are only distributed to those she and the emperor have personally found trustworthy.
She recently married Aleister Crown, one of the happiest things she could ever have hoped for. Despite their relationship getting off to an extremely rough start when they first met, the time they spent, both on the Iron Ghost mission and after, led to the two of them falling in love fairly quickly. Since then, Hagane makes every effort to spend time with him, taking frequent vacations from her work with the inquisitors to spend short snippets of time with Aleister and his family. It's been a rough road, either with Aleister's daughters struggling to adjust, or Aleister's enemies coming after them, or even ending in an alternate dimension getting tortured. Ironically, the largest obstacle Hagane's overcome so far was being introduced to hers and Aleister's future son, with the knowledge that they continued to be married for over 40,000 years. This revelation caused Hagane some discomfort, but she embraced the idea once she wrapped her head around it. She makes an effort to do something for her family to make them happier today than they were yesterday, an attitude that ends up shaping the childhoods of several thousands of their future offspring. They were married in August 2014.

Coleen Kurugi is the Lancer of the group. Her cool personality often leads her to insulting others, but in her mind that is how friends are. She is constantly ripping into those she cares about, tearing others down as a form of humour. However, those she cares about recognise this as such and often reciprocate, often leading to something slightly more advanced than a schoolyard 'Yo Momma' fight. She can appear androgynous, especially when wearing baggy clothing and sunglasses as she often does, and she often adds to the confusion with her swagger and masculine manner of speaking.
Cole suffers from Synthesia: An neurological disorder in which the stimulation of one sense manifests itself in multiple senses. For Cole, she can see sound. growing up, she thought this was an ability, linked with her actual power, and caused by her red eyes. However, her red eyes are only because she's Albino, part of the reason she almost constantly wears sunglasses and dyes her hair. Her favourite hair colours are blue and blonde.
Her ability lets her use music to manipulate the world around her. With the right beat, pitch and lyrics, she can make trees uproot themselves and dance, she can make sky scrapers rise from the ground, she can launch energy blasts at blinding speeds and accuracy. However, all of these are dependant on the song and will fade away once the music stops.
Her Sketch, Record Gear, takes the form of a vinyl record resting on a large red gear. She can summon two at the same time, and float under her hand until thrown. She fights using them as Chakram, and they return to her hands after being thrown. Using Record Gear, Coleen can jump in time by spinning the discs with her fingers. A jump is usually between a split second or two seconds, forwards or backwards, like a CD when it jumps a beat. Intense disk scratching can cause further jumps or create paradox clones of herself.
Coleen is able to generate two Black Carapaces- one white and one black. The White Carapace allows for greater time manipulation, while the Black version increases her physical combat abilities.
She supported the team financially by working as a DJ, but she spends most of her time working in the Empire military, training the first batch of Astartes.

Alvin is the self-designated slacker of the group. He is just too chilled out to give a crap about anything. He's very happy to go with the flow, let others do the work, and to enjoy his own thing. He is a very talented gymnast, and is gifted physically in speed, stamina, and strength, but he just doesn't care about anything.
He will, however, stand up to the occasion when required. His ability is to create pocket spaces, whole universes, at will, and portals within them. When inside these worlds, he can enter a trance-like state where he can fly, move at incredible speeds, withstand incredible damage and manipulate the world around him at will. He can matter out of nothing, and relocate it as he pleases, an ability he himself views as cheating. However, outside of these worlds, he is powerless aside from his physical abilities. Many of these portals lead to a beach by default, and he has to make a conscious effort if he wants the portal to lead to a specific location other than a beach within these worlds. Despite the encouragement from his teammates, he refuses to rename his ability, declining the alternative names of Edencraft, or Minescape. Time in these worlds is relative, and can spend multiple hours there resting in the space of a few seconds in the real world.
Alvin is an expert survivalist. One could dump him in the middle of the woods without his abilities and he will have built a wooden cabin and a complete toolset by nightfall. By the end of the second day he will have mined coal and iron ore from the ground, built a furnace, and would be forging steel tools to build a stone house, which would be complete with crude plumbing and electricity by the end of the week, even making glass from the natural sand. It is in these kind of wilderness situations that Alvin displays his true prowess, an expert craftsman, miner, woodsman, even as a builder and architect. Alvin is happiest when it is him against the wild, braving nightly swarms of zombies, giant spiders and other unnatural beasts in his own world instead of developing skills to survive in metropolitan society.
Alvin's Emblem and Sketch are unusual when compared to those of his teammates. While Hagane and Coleen name their powers after their Emblems, Alvin names his power after his Sketch, the portal. He can create multiple portals at will, in the world around him and into his own world. He uses these to great effect in battle, warping around the battle field, opening portals to lakes of magma above his foe, and redirecting attacks. His Black Carapace is blue, and allows Alvin to survive in any environment, including underwater, in extreme heat, pressure, or even the cold darkness of space.
While undergoing training under Gen's master Reiji, Alvin obtained a Gainen Medal that granted him the power to heal others and generate barriers. He has only unlocked two of a possible total of ten skills from the medal, and these abilities will show themselves as time goes on. Current skills include:
· 1. Kiko Bun’ya: Armor Field, a flat surface capable of withstanding 10 tons of force.
· 2. Chiyu Renraku: Healing Contact, wounds are healed or helped to heal, even removed extremities, only physical source damage, cannot heal mystical sources.
· 3: Sutoreji Kyubu: Storage Cube, stores up to 9 cubic metres of goods into a die-sized cube of barrier. Can be further divided into 27 individual cubes of 1 metre cubed volume. Cannot carry living cargo.

He does not have a job. When not in his own world, he just sits on his backside all day until they get a mission, much to the annoyance of his teammates due to the rich and fertile nature of his worlds, where he already grows fruit, vegetables, and mines for ores. In the Empire, he works closely with Mechanicus in R&D, improving the Empire's technology and allocating resources when and where needed.

While the first three members of Sketchinoda share a common bond, there are other Shinodaborn that have joined their ranks in recent months. Here are a few of them, not including SamJaz, who is considered the head of the Shinoda clan and the eldest brother to all the Shinodaborn, or Kelly Malkin, for the same reason.

There are some Shinodas who somehow managed to escape Ironside's clutches through one way or another. Some had powerful allies, some were sneaky, some just developed their abilities late and already had too many connections to be worth the risk. Here are a few of the ones SamJaz is already aware of.
Arsenal Vetinari II

Arsenal Vetinari II was a late addition to the team, joining after a battle in northern Africa with Alvin. He was born in the middle ages, and his mother died when he was young, when he was picked up by Arsenal Vetinari.
Having trained as a ninja and training his Geass, which he obtained from Arsenal Vetinari, Blondie made it to the present day through use of arcane chronomancy. He swore fealty to his past saviour, and accompanied him to assassinate a local warlord named Fabre.
Unfortunately, Fabre ended Arsenal's Code and killed him, and Vetinari died in Blondie's arms. Using his grass, Blondie absorbed centuries of Arsenal's memories, temporarily giving him a crisis of identity as he worked to figure out who he really was. With help, he chose the name Arsenal Vetinari the Second, and works to carry on the first's legacy of heroism.
Arsenal is a playful character, an odd mix of the memories of a disgruntled cop who spent too long on the job, and his current life as an excitable teenager who is seeing everything he remembered, but for the first time. He is often rebuked for taking things lightly, but is willing to shoulder all responsibility for any given situation with his classical non-chalance. He knows the worst humanity can do to him and can remember going through it. Fear has become something that happens to other people, and his sword hand is always twitching, ready to strike down injustice wherever he sees it.
He sees himself as a hero of legend, and often over-compensates to compare himself with such. He is the first to declare a heroic speech, utter a catchphrase, and bring hope to a stranded soul in need of assistance. His greatest fear (aside from his crippling phobia of bees brought about by being thrown into a massive beehive as a child, causing him to lash out overaggressively at the merest hint of their presence) is the thought that he will one day see an evil that he cannot fight, but must allow.
With Arsenal's Emblems, he can create pockets in reality where he can store anything, and is able to summon an unlimited amount of weaponry from these pockets. His actual weapon, his Sketch, however, is the creation of magical circles on the ground where he can unleash blasts of magical and elemental energies, as well as cast arcana magic. Despite his immense combat capabilities, he prefers to fight with sword in hand, often striking while declaring catch phrases with each attack. As of yet, he is unable to generate a Black Carapace.

The first member of Sketchinoda Alexis met was Hagane, and at that time Alexis went by the name of Alice Vincentsson. She is astonishingly intelligent and combat capable, standing her own against the combined efforts of FCL. She was trained in hand-to-hand combat in the Dreadnought style of her father, a martial art mastered only by herself, Jardsam, and SamJaz, where one is trained to fight against armies using swords, axes, magic and guns.
She was born illegitimately to the Romanov house, the royal family of Russia, while Jardsam was living under the guise of Rasputin. While Jardsam normally leaves his children with the mother, her royal status as an illegitimate child caused Jardsam to take her with him on his travels after the assassination attempt on his life. Since then she has flourished into an accomplished fighter, mage and woman.
During the fall of Hellscraper, she came to realise her father's intentions and broke away, siding with Coleen Kurugi to escort the other princesses out of the tower. Seeing the strength of SamJaz, she followed him alongside her other half-siblings and was a key figure in the training of the Astartes in the young Empire. Her own Sketch, the outer Carapace, was instrumental in the development of the Astartes armour.
Personalitywise, she is very competitive and loves to excel. She carries a dignified grace befitting her status as a royal, even when getting her hands dirty. She is very to the point and blunt, though loves to discuss slightly irrelevant trivialities, such as the etymology of people's names, or different forms of philosophy.
Alexis' emblems are Touch, and Go. She can use any part of her body to grip and touch as if it were fingers. She can hear, see, taste, feel and smell through any part of her body, and has incredible grip, from holding swords with her thigh to scaling buildings with her fingertips. In addition, she can put any stationary object into motion with a touch, and control its movements by will until it comes to rest.
Her Sketch, the Outer Carapace, is a black skintight bodysuit with points of light dotted around her body. These lights are actually mixture devices similar to Jardsam's pencil, although much less powerful. These emitters can temporarily edit the laws of physics in the space around Alexis, as well as manipulating objects around her. Because her Sketch is so similar to the Black Carapace, her actual Carapace is underdeveloped, and does not cover her arms or parts of her waist.

Unlike many of the other Shinodaborns listed here, Darren grew up with his liberty. Born to a now retired member of Mi13, Darren was protected from the Getshinoda organisation, and had a relatively normal, if fatherless, childhood. He's a fan of music, especially metal covers of mainstream songs or anything from the 80's. He's upbeat and sarcastic but has a strong sense of duty that led him into the London Metropolitan Police.
While his mother thought that his abilities would be better suited to work in Mi13, Darren became a special operative in the police force, nicknamed the Brunswick Baton, after the silver star on the police uniform, or BB for short. Under this identity, he can act as a caped crusader of sorts, receiving intelligence from the other officers and striking where needed, much faster than Mi13 is usually able to respond to an issue within central London.
His two emblems grant him mobility only matched by Flowmotion practitioners. Liquid Spider allows Darren to grow additional limbs from his Carapace, which can extend for up to half a mile in length, which he will often use as grappling ropes or makeshift nets. Shadowsneak allows Darren to melt into whatever surface he is touching, and reform on the other side, like a blood cell squeezing through the lining of a capillary.
Most deadly is his Sketch, one of the most powerful sketches to ever manifest itself in a Shinodaborn- The Fullmetal Jacket. An infinite supply of weaponry drawn from the back, torso, legs and shoulders, the Fullmetal Jacket is a legendary item needed to fully master the Dreadnought fighting style. SamJaz, for example, only has possession of a partial replica of the FMJ. As a special favour, Darren received training from Reiko in the martial art, as he is the only one of the Dreadnought's founder's children to manifest the weapon needed to master the complete art. He is still learning, but is capable of fighting entire SWAT teams singlehandedly.

Elliott thought she normal was a human teenage girl who loved Muay Thai and Japanese RPG's until the first time she activated her ability. While browsing through the markets at Camden Town, London when she fell through a portal into a digital world, where messages and date took the form of monsters. Some were friendly, some were less so. This was her first encounter with anything even remotely Hidden World related, and she was understandably confused and distressed.
Thankfully, SamJaz and Hitomi were on hand to help out, and they were able to explain the situation to her. This was an amazing world, one Elliott was eager to explore and learn more about her abilities. After exchanging phone numbers and cat ears, SamJaz agreed to meet with Elliot again in the near future, as he had to get back to Wembley to oversee the sale of the spare room in his flat.
It soon became apparent, however, that despite training in Thai Kickboxing every week for the past year, Elliott had insufficient skills to defend herself in the monster-filled environments her ability placed her in at random intervals. Immediately, SamJaz began teaching her the basics of MP-based magic, knowing that this girl needed told to survive in this new world that was hiding in her own this whole time, and thus Elliott took her first steps into the Hidden World.
As she explored these worlds, she was able to uncover her second Emblem, the ability to change between various job classes, like if she was in an RPG game. Each class has different strengths and abilities, as well as a corresponding outfit, and grants her a different weapon with each form. In all classes, Elliott is able to use rudimentary magic, though her spells increase in strength and variety when in a mage class.

Raised by his mother, a witch named Chloe Redpath, Jotaro evaded Ironside's capture and was raised fully aware of his abilities. He was named by his father and prefers to go by the name Joe. The only one in the school who doesn't grant him this favour is his history teacher, and it's a source of annoyance for him. One of the few things that do manage to annoy him, actually, as Joe is very laid back and good natured, willing to help out if he sees he's needed.
Having been trained a mage and in his Shinodaborn abilities, Jotaro's exceptionally powerful for his age, but his nature and self-control make his abilities a secret even to the other hidden world members of the school. He intends to keep it that way, as he enjoys the normality of his civilian life in contrast to his life in the darkness filled with training and combat.
He's frequently going on dates, though he somehow ends up getting friend zoned by every single woman he spends more than a few hours with. He has no idea why, as he's both charming and courteous, interesting and interested in his date, and never leaving a girl unsatisfied despite never getting past first base. For one reason or another, he has a lot of female friends.
His skills in combat, despite his good nature, are terrifying both in his normal form and when forming his carapace. Born with an incredible sixth sense for danger, Jotaro has a near-precognitive reaction speed, and a brutality in his fighting style that obliterates most opponents that cross his path. From an early age, his mother has been honing Jotaro's abilities, and he has over a decade of combat experience under his belt at his tender age of seventeen. Incredibly, neither of his emblems can be said to have significant combat usage, at least in their initial states, but his Sketch is a completely different story.
Bloody Banner- the robe of the undead. When he was a child, this piece of cloth was white as snow, but as more and more drops of blood were spilled upon it in battle, the banner became darker and darker until reaching the vile shade of crimson it is today. It bears his scars and absorbs his injuries, bleeding for him and receiving his wounds to prevent him from getting injured.
The Bloody Banner grants its wearer the power to straddle the line between living and death- allowing Jotaro the power and endurance of a ghoul, the skills of the vampire and the zombie, but the lifeblood and breath of the living. Fighting from both sides of the grave, Jotaro is an uroboros of momentum- the longer he stays in his combat form, the stronger and faster he becomes. His breathing grants him the quickness and the healing of the living, but the robe grants him the endurance and strength of the corpse.
In addition, Jotaro is proficient with both offensive and defensive magic, and can heal himself from almost any injury, given a few moments respite. This is where his two emblems come into play: Disperse grants Jotaro the ability to clear an area, whether for people to subconsciously step out of his path, or to completely avoid an area altogether. Though this ability has less effect on the strong-willed, he can still clear a room faster than a warthog after a bowl of chilli.
Joe's second Emblem, Wayfinder, allows him to locate any person or object that he's seen before, and instantly move towards it. Jotaro's trained this ability to teleport at will to such a degree that he can now instantly cover short distances as effortlessly as blinking, making an ability designed for escape a weapon for attack. Indeed, were it not for Jotaro's kindhearted nature, he would be a lethal foe for any hero.
His Carapace, however, is his biggest failing as a Shinodaborn. Like Diane, he can only partially form his carapace, and forming it destroys the remaining clothes he's wearing aside from the cloth around his forearms and ankles. When activated, his carapace resembles an intricate pattern of tribal tattoos. However, he cannot summon his Sketch without activating his carapace, despite lengthy practice sessions.

Out of all the Shinodaborns listed on this page, Penelope is the most lethal and dangerous of all. With line of sight and by moving her hands, Penelope Jack can remove segments of your brain, tear out the structural support of a building, destroy an airplane, even crush a bridge, and she would not hesitate to do so.
Her first Emblem, Fistful, makes anything she touches with her hands become as malleable as clay. Her second Emblem, however, removes the limits of her reach. Just as one can raise their hands to the sky and imagine themselves taking hold of the moon, Penelope actually can, tearing a chunk of the moon out in her hand and bring it down to earth, one fistful at a time. Destroying large structures and objects takes long periods of time and concentration, during which she is vulnerable to sneak attacks at close range. She finds this ability is best used in taking out the structural supports of large buildings for large-scale terrorist attacks.
Her Sketch, worknet, summons a number of floating laptop computers that allow her to infiltrate almost any computer system on the planet,
Partially thanks to this power, Penelope grew isolated and uncaring, her mother's corpse rotting in her bedroom. By the age of nine, Penenlope had left home, and travelled the world, killing anyone in her way as selling her services to the highest bidder- not for the money, but because she loves the feeling of seeing all these terrorist organisations competing with one another- "Mommy loves me the best no she loves me more than you."

Being an only child, Rachel didn't have much in the way of an early childhood due to her mother almost always being gone on business trips that Rachel couldn't go on. While she was away, Rachel was left at their surprisingly large house with only a babysitter to tend to the house and make sure she was alright. Once Rachel entered preschool, her lack of social skills showed and was routinely bullied by the other kids. But on one fateful day, a new blond transfer student stepped in and scared away Rachel's bullies. Her name was Elyssa Miyata, and ever since they have been best friends.
With her new friend made, Rachel began to sleep over at Elyssa's house so frequently that the other Miyatas jokingly began calling them sisters. Rachel's mother didn't mind that she was staying over so much, as that meant that she didn't have to pay for a babysitter anymore.
Once Rachel turned 9, she began to notice that she was developing the ability to manipulate lasers and even create physical objects by bending the light. When she asked Aria Miyata what was happening to her, she was only given the vague answer that she was awakening a power that was in her genetics, and that she shouldn't worry about it. Little did she know the Elyssa, Aria and the rest of the Miyatas knew she was a Shinodaborn, and for the past few years have been keeping her hidden from Ironside and his robots that were still capturing Shinodaborn. They didn't want to tell Rachel about her heritage because it might make her want to try and rescue some of her family...a mission that would only lead to her own capture.
Her first emblem, Beam, allows her to create purple laser beams of varying sizes. These laser beams can then be morphed by Rachel into physical objects that she can use for almost any purpose; wings, shields, bridges, oragami, you name it, she could make a laser version of it that can be physically touched. In addition, she can control the heat given off by the lasers, so it is possible for her to burn through a solid steel wall with shocking precision.
Unfortunately, her second Emblem is relatively new, and thus more underdeveloped. Blink allows Rachel to briefly turn her body into a laser beam and either escape from a difficult situation, or more interestingly send herself into the electronics of a machine to make some intricate edits to it's circuitry. The most useful application she has found so far for the latter ability is unlocking electronic doors without raising alarms. Luckily for her though, when she transforms back, her minimalistic carapace is already formed around her body.
Like Jotaro Redpath, Rachel can only form an incomplete white carapace around her body that takes the form of a one-piece swimsuit.
She is extremely uncomfortable at the amount of skin this suit shows, so she tries to only form it under her normal clothes and limit her usage of her second emblem.
Her Sketch takes the form of a long horizontal handle that has an opening at the end. Out of this opening, Rachel can greatly increase the concentration of her lasers and turn them into deadly weapons. Her preferred form of her Sketch is a long purple laser sword that can change in size depending on her preference, though she can also turn it into a slightly less concentrated beam rifle that can cut through most things with ease, though not as well as the sword form.
Currently, Elyssa and herself have transferred into King's Grammar to meet new people and hunt for treasure in a different part of the world. She knows nothing about Shinodaborns, though judging by the people in her class, it is safe to say she might be informed soon enough.

RUNAWAYS- The Second Escape
This group of people escaped from Ironside during the mass-breakout of February 2014.
The escape occurred when Jardsam crash-landed the Office through the walls of the camp and fought against Ironside and his soldiers for three hours while his children escaped. Ironside ignored the escapees, directing his entire resources towards the capture of Jardsam. He fled when the last boat of refugees departed the island. Most of those who had their first taste of freedom were recaptured within a few weeks, but these few managed to find shelter and escape Ironside's machines and bounty hunters.

Diane Reid grew up in the same Shinodaborn concentration camp as Hagane, Coleen and Alvin, but was unable to escape with them two years ago. However, she recently managed to break out with Daniel Davies, and together they seek out the old friends that were luckier than they were.
A kind, compassionate girl, she was often the foil to Hagane's direct nature, and was seen as a beacon of light in the prison that they called home. Some theorised that this excessive openheartedness of Diane's being the reason that she cannot form a Carapace over her heart- it always splits at the navel and meets up again behind her neck, where it ties her hair into a bow. For some unusual reason, generating her Carapace also destroys any fabric covering this area, and thus her heart is always exposed when she fights.
Diane's emblems, Holes and Seals, allow her to create holes in any non-living matter she can see, even tunnelling through mountains with ease. She can also seal holes, though this requires a touch to do so.
Her Sketch, Binding lashes, takes the form of two leather belts protruding from her lower back, near her kidneys. She can control these whips by will, and they can extend for up to half a mile in length. Incredibly strong and fast, they can slice through flesh and lift several tonnes in weight effortlessly.

A late developer and thus a late arrival to the concentration facility, Daniel remembers his life before being stolen in the night, and as such, fought the hardest against their kidnappers. He was often kept in punishment facilities, and was unable to escape with Alvin, Hagane and Coleen, and his opportunity wouldn't come until much later, when he lead the mass- outbreak of Shinodaborn into the world.
Closing himself from the world after being taken from his family, Daniel became a brooder, one to lock his emotions away while wearing them on his sleeve so all the world can see how much pain he's feeling inside. Using his powers of chaos, Daniel bleached part of his hair white, symbolic of the emotional death that fills his world of angst.
Though his emotional choices are somewhat amusing to others, his ability in battle is no joke. Having power over Chaos and Control, Daniel can freely manipulate the forces of chaos. In addition, he is able to slow the passage of time to a near halt, and move objects through sheer force of will.
His Sketch is a black cloak formed of torment, which allows Daniel to teleport short distances when he covered himself with it.

Like Daniel, Yancy remembered memories of her childhood before being taken to the concentration camp. She was raised amongst French nobility in the years before the revolution, living the finest live that could be provided as the daughter of the king's most favoured mistress, then to be taken from that life into the life of a test subject as an insult too much to bear.
Yancy became obsessive and possessive, using her glass butterflies to observe the world outside. While many of the other Shinodaborn would gather and listen to stories of what she saw, but there was one set of stories that she kept to herself. Stories of a prince from a distant land that escaped his throne, and was hero among heroes.
She promised herself that she would marry that man, and upon escaping the concentration camp with the others, she headed to London immediately.
Yancy's two Emblems are very different, and do not compliment each other as obviously as other Shinodaborns do. Black Ice is an offensive Emblem, allowing her to create and manipulate black, glasslike material that does not shatter or melt. Despite being room temperature, Yancy insists on calling this Black Ice. Glass Butterfly, on the other hand, creates invisible, glass butterflies that fly throughout the world, allowing Yancy to observe through their eyes. Over the years, she has created so many that she can know where anyone is on the planet so long as they are standing outside.
Her sketch, Obsidian Ballgown, encases her in thousands of blades forged of Black Ice, making a razor sharp armour that slices anything she touches. She skates through the air at high speeds, moving with great accuracy to dice her enemies into bloody chunks.
Before being killed by Arthur Cromwell, Yancy prepared an egg within Loveline Cromwell that hatched into a clone of Yancy, though with additional DNA included from Loveline to accelerate her growth and ensure a more stable mindset. This child was adopted by Arthur Cromwell, named Hazel by Lily Crown.

The second Mira escaped the facility, she hopped onto a wire and surged her way into Berlin. Landing in the middle of the city, she smashed an ATM machine, frying the CCTV in the area and taking €7,000 in her shirt. A change of clothes and a hot meal later, Mira found work in the Balmung branch of the Bounty Hunter Association, passing the initial exam with flying colours and earning a bronze rank.
This job met a lot of her needs. It paid, it allowed her to keep her own hours, and it let her enjoy the thrill of the chase and inhales the fumes caused by scorched flesh before handing the prize over to the mark. She quickly settled into a familiar routine. She'd wake up in the afternoon, eat some food, collect a target from the BHA, capture the target, take the money, get drunk of her head and enjoy a few men. Occasionally she'd shake things up by taking her kit off for the Bombshell of the Month specials.
This was her life, and she couldn't be merrier, at least for the portions of it when she wasn't sober or worshiping the porcelain goddess, bringing up offerings of her half-digested meals. The party life was ruining her, and another bounty hunter, an axe woman named Ninja, took it upon herself to drag Mira to some semblance of sanity.
Mira and Ninja soon started working together on their bounties, and together they dominated the streets of Berlin. Though Ninja had no supernatural abilities beyond her inhuman skill with her axe, Mira made up for it with her skills as a Shinodaborn. While her Sketch was simply two electrically charged shortswords, Mira's emblems allowed her to cling to any surface, be it wall, floor or ceiling, though static electricity, but far more impressive was we ability to transform into a spark of electricity and travel along any conductive surface, collecting information into her mind as she travels.

The younger biological sister of Coleen, one of the very rare examples of full siblings amongst the Shinodaborn. Unlike her older sister, Olivia is quiet and reserved, though wise beyond her years.
She was unable to escape with her older sister during the initial escape, but was tracked down after the mass prison break by Hagane and Aleister, with some help from Yancy. She was working as a medium, due to her abilities in communicating with the dead.
Olivia has a mental connection with the grim reaper, and can speak to those who have passed on through this connection, should they be willing to talk. She cannot speak about anything that happens on the other side, but her existence alone all but confirms the existence of an afterlife.
Olivia's other Emblem, Sibling Bonds, allows her to track down any other Shinodaborn that is alive at that current moment. This is exceptionally useful, especially for SamJaz, as he is currently trying to locate all of his siblings, even those Ironside was unable to capture. This is a source of concern for Olivia as well, as she's anxious to meet all of her siblings and build up her family.
Her Sketch, Memento, allows her to use the abilities and weaponry of whoever she's currently channelling. The higher the ratio of synchronicity, the more abilities and strength she can harness.

Jessica Ardelean is the daughter of a witch hailing from Brasov, Romania. She escaped from Ironside's camp during the second escape and she managed to dodge recapture unlike many of her siblings.
Upon escaping, Jessica had trouble adjusting to the freedom in a world that changed so much since the time she was captured and didn't have have documents with which to find work so she ended up sleeping in the streets and stealing to survive. It was not much of a problem for her with the abilities she has.
Eventually however, she moved to England, hoping to find a better life there. She failed at first, and eventually MI13 caught her and, after a lot of pleading and convincing, she ended up getting a job with the agency.
Jessica wants to be an honest person and would have done anything so that she didn't have to steal. However, her search for honesty is beaten by her will to survive, and since the only way to do so was to steal, she gladly did it. But her will to survive is not only limited to getting nurishment, it stretches to combat as well.
She is a smart combatant, using her sharp mind to outwit ther opponents and using her environment to defeat them while getting into as little danger as possible.
Jessica's two emblems are Switch and Projector. Switch lets her switch anything with anything else, as long as she knows where both of the things are. For example, she could switch the air above her palm with the apple on the tree as long as she knows exactly where the apple is. It is quite likely that in the future and with enough practice, she will learn how to switch herself with something else as a form of teleportation, and she might also learn how to switch stuff that she cannot see, such as your heart with something else. But that is most likely (especially the second part) far in the future.
Projector is only available for use when her carapace is active. A pink pattern appears on her back and she can create holographic projections of herself anywhere she wants. She can also produce various sounds, but she cannot create holograms of anything else at this point.
She can make an unlimited (or at last it is believed that it is unlimited) number of copies and she can see through the copies eyes.
However, the view is not exactly clear and the more copies there are, the smudgier the view gets. Also, the view worsens as she gets further away from the copy. But that is not a problem as she mostly uses them as distractions.
Jessica's Sketch, Armorblaster, appears in the form of a yellow armor with a blaster instead of a right arm. The blaster on her arm fires energy balls capable of destroying walls with ease though it can only hold ten balls at a time and recharges one ball every minute. This makes this sketch a perfect weapon, providing both offense and defense, even if the offense is a bit limited.
However, once she activates the armor, she cannot deactivate it on her own. Instead, she needs someone to press a randomly generated combination of buttons (Jessica becomes aware of the combination as soon as she activates the armor) located on her back.
It is difficult to find someone she trusts to unlock her armour, and she has been known to spend days confined within it.
Jessica's carapace comes with an innate ability in the form of a pair of (rather ugly) high-heels shoes which Jessica named the Combustion Heels. They work like rocket boots, letting Jessica jump much higher into the air then she usually could and she can also use them to propel herself forward off of a wall. Also, if the need arises, she can use them as flame throwers in combat.
A special piece of equipment Jessica has is the Electro-shocker, a handgun that fires orbs of electricity. The gun has two modes. It is automatically set to Stun and in this mode will not kill her opponents, only paralyze them. However, she can set it to Kill and the balls will electrocute her enemies, often burning the bodies to a crisp. However, in Kill mode, the gun can only fire 20 "bullets" before it has to recharge, something that is not a problem in Stun mode.

RECRUITED - The Third Escape
During the summer of 2014, an unnamed individual infiltrated Ironside's camp, and then began to extract no small number of Shinodaborn. Eleven Shinodas had escaped the camp before the intruder was discovered. The smuggler escaped, and the entranceway repaired. Below are a few of those key members.
Emblem: Utilities and Pulsecognition
As if his name wasn't a huge giveaway, Rohan's abilities developed from an early age. A powerful Shinodaborn whose mother was a Swedish witch, and he lost her at the age of three at the hands of Ironside's men. Growing up, he was a major part of Hagane's resistance against Ironside, and took over their work after they left, fighting against Ironside to bring about the freedom of himself and his family.
Rohan was hired by Altair the Assassin and is currently retraining his innate abilities to be best used for the ideals of the order- Liberation. He is not one to follow blindly at the orders of a master, but as a free apprentice to an experienced master. Since being hired, Rohan carries a steel hidden blade on his left arm, but hasn't yet earned his second weapon.
Rohan's primary weapon is a collapsible staff named Gunginr. A homage to the legendary spear of Odin, Rohan's weapon emits sparks that paralyses those it touches while making skin contact. It can be wielded as two batons or as a single staff. However, those are not the only tools available to him.
Rohan's first Emblem, Utilities, is unusual in the fact that it takes the physical form of a utility belt around his waist with several pouches. Each pouch contains something small and useful that can fit into Rohan's hand, and will be of great use to him the instant he places his hands into the pocket. The items are in a constant state of flux, like Schrodingers cat, and are only decided when Rohan reaches into his pouch. He has eight pouches on his person, and they reset themselves every time Rohan sleeps.
Rohan's second Emblem, Pulsecognition, allows him to see everything within a radius by means of atomic recognition. People, electronic messages, heartbeats, nerve impulses, anything. He can see it and comprehend that information.
The smaller the sphere of influence, the more detailed his observations and the more information he can obtain. At twenty metres, Rohan can see nerve impulses, heart beats, muscles tensing and easily follow eye movements. At 100 metres, he struggles to see internal biological movements beyond the heartbeat, and at 150 he cannot see inside people at all. He is capable of collecting information up to a mile away, but at that distance he'd be better off just looking at the explosion.
As a person, Rohan is aggressive yet playful- a notorious prankster. He is kind but merciless, and never pulls his punches. Rohan loves playing with machinery and building new toys to play with- though he is no genius at it, unlike Alvin, who Rohan is jealous of for his gift at engineering. Rohan works hard at everything he attempts, and despite his japes and playful banter, he is dead serious about his ideals- Justice. Freedom. Liberty. And a hardboiled egg- at least he can get one of those by the end of the night. He also likes capes. Capes are cool.

Ember is a sadist and a pyromaniac. Colourblind from birth, fire and blood are the only things that she is capable of seeing in full colour, and she grew to have a fascination with both of them. Captured at the age of seven after burning her mother to death, Ember has made an attempt on the lives of almost all of her siblings, but has never managed to make a successful murder inside the compound.
It has been hypothesised that Ember also has a split personality, but this may just be a manifestation of her emblem. Twisted is a large tongue that manifests from her carapace when it begins to cover her mouth. Twisted speaks using very masculine mannerisms, and unlike the crude and brash Ember, Twisted is polite and cordial, though twice as murderous. They have been heard to argue on occasion, but Twisted is Embers closest friend- and possibly her lover- and the two of them assist each other in battle. Aside from his voice, Ember's only ability is an acidic saliva that contorts anything it touches.
Ember's two Emblems, Hot Sweat and Kiss of Death, are both focused on destruction. Embers sweat is incredibly flammable- sometimes outright explosive. Ember covers her skin with her liquid-like carapace to force her pores into overdrive, sweating profusely and then weaponising that sweat- flicking it, spreading it, even mixing it with her carapace and flanging it with various tentacles that protrude from her body.
Kiss of Death is another deadly ability, one that combined with the spider-like markings on her chest, earned Ember the nickname Black Widow. While Twisted's saliva causes objects to contoured, Ember's saliva turns the surface of any solid it touches into powder. She once attempted to break out of the compound by licking through the wall- though she was discovered before she'd cleared enough room to stick an arm through. To a human, however, each lick would draw blood.
Despite her psychotic tendencies- or perhaps because of them- Ember attracted Altair's notices for her willingness to kill, and even whore herself out while doing it. Since her release, Ember has followed Altair's instructions closely, honing her womanly charms to take the lives of her targets through various methods- from twisting their spine to snapping point, incinerating their cerebellum, to even dripping fire onto their bodies during intercourse. Ember is a killer and loves her job, continuing to train her skills under her master in the hopes of continuing her killing in the future.

Revolver is a sweet girl, though devious. She is generally kind and charming, quite flirtatious too, but will just as easily pick your pocket as she could flash you her smile. Altair saw her potential as an assassin, but underestimated her ability to double-cross him and he lost her shortly after smuggling her out of the compound.
Genuinely faster on the foot than most of her Shinodaborn peers, Revolver uses that speed in her primary Emblem, Gemlight, which allows her to create physical objects made out of hardened green light.
While running on these surfaces, Revolver moved even faster than her usual high speeds, and can also attack and defend herself with these walls of light.
Her second Sketch, Tech Support, allows her to communicate with the machine spirit of any piece of technology she encounters. This gift placed her into communications with Mechanicus at an early age, who taught her how to effectively wield her gifts faster than many of her peers.
Her weapon is the sketch, Striker, which takes the form of a simple pistol. This pistol, however, has the power to paralyse any object or creature it touches and knock them back several feet before allowing them movement.
Revolver usually attack by using this weapon to slam targets into each other, or into dangerous obstacles. However, her skill with her carapace has made her an excellent marksman.
Revolver was born in the 1870's in the wild west, raised by her mother and her cowboy husband before being captured by the Ironside foundation at the age of eleven. Unlike many girls in her time, she was taught to ride, shoot and hunt.
She has a love for the John Wayne movies, though the inaccuracies are jarring to her memories of home. At the moment, she works as a freelance bounty hunter, avoiding Altair's attempts to recruit her while still living a life of freedom.
With her good looks, good luck and that beautiful western accent, Revolver is managing to stay afloat even with Ironside and Altair after her.

Bryony puts on an elaborate act of being a hopeless ditz that is focused only with making herself look good. In fact, this act only serves to hide Bryony's shrewd and calculating nature. By acting the fool, Bryony is consistently underestimated and she then has a far easier time taking victory when the time comes to drop the charade. Underneath the trips and the self-aggrandisement is a stoic, patient, and ruthless killer who prioritises solely on completing the task at hand.
The first of Bryony's Emblems is Scrapwings- which gives Byrony the power to gather scrap and junk around her and forge it into flight armour. Her second sketch, Misuse, however, is much more interesting. Bryony can use any object for the opposite of its intended purpose, as well as the standard use of such things. As such, Bryony can use weapons to heal people, vehicles to prevent others from moving, food to poison and poison to nourish.
Bryony's sketch, Batslash, creates bat-shaped blades from her forearms that can cut through almost any substance.
Since joining Eleventh, Bryony has found a new use for her freedom in taking the lives of unsuspecting victims in dark alleys, but has also been training in her etiquette to cause subtle deaths with her Misuse ability.
She considers Altair to be a stable employer, one that pays generously and gives generous freedoms to the members of his family.
She serves him not for a loyalty to his cause of his creed, but for the stability of income the the security of the job.

Charlie considers herself rather mature and has a developed sense of independence. She asks her siblings to be treated as if she was the same age as them, despite being one of the youngest, if not the youngest, Shinodaborn who escaped Ironside's camp or was trapped in it for that matter. Whether they do that or not depends from person to person, but they mostly use that to prank her, usually by putting stuff like cereal out of her reach and they saying that she should be able to reach it since she's the same age as them. This usually results in her showcasing her maturity by cursing worse then a sailor.
Ever since she can remember, Charlie's only family were the other Shinodaborn. She was taken to Ironside's camp at the age of three and can't even remember her mother's face or name. She was coddled and taken care of by the other Shindaborn. She enjoyed that until she was about 10 and then she started asking them to treat her like they treat each other since she was in the same mess as they for the whole duration of her so far pretty short life. When Altair showed up and rescued her, and other Shinodaborn, she was among those that remained with him, mostly because the two people she trusted and liked the most, Summer and Xu, decided to stay with him too.
The first of Charlie's two Emblems, Osmosis, lets her phase through solid objects. Her second Emblem is Transparency and it lets her turn invisible. Combined, these Emblems are perfect for a stealthy infiltrator that no one will see coming, literally.
Charlie's Sketch, Charming Smile, has two effects. First, anyone who catches a glance of Charlie's smile are unable to perceive her as an enemy unless she attacks them. If she does attack them, there is a 48 hour cooldown period before the smile will work on them again so Charlie tries to always make her first strike count. If Charlie intentionally smiled at someone, instead of only being unable to preceive her as an enemy, the person will also feel obliged to help her out. It is not strong enough to make them attack their allies, but it is strong enough to make them not attack their enemies or to make them grab something off of the top shelf because her siblings decided to be cruel.
