@Fehafare: @ChronoWolf:

Gale exploded in a cloud of shrapnel, piercing Lincent and Galantus as he teleported to another planet, before getting hit by a gear and warping back to underneath Lincent's chainsword.

He coughed up blood as the blades tore at his chest, and Coleen grabbed Loveline and jumped towards Hitomi. "Keep that dog down!" Coleen shouted at Matt and Lincent as she continued to gather the princesses.

-=-

Down below, the were a flash of light as millions of dove-like lights flew up from below the glass platforms, illuminating the entire floor. Kelly and Crown were able to see SamJaz get launched back from Jardsam, only for the younger to capture his father in a golden string of a Collision spell, then toss his father up towards Arthur.

@SamJaz:

Gale exploded into shrapnel, but it didn't even cause a scratch in Galantus's armor. What it did manage to do is to teleport Gale away, though that didn't last thanks to a timely intervention by Coleen, who also ordered them to "keep that dog down". No problem. Quickly changing into the mechanical wolf, Matt jumped on top of the blood-coughing man and held him down with sharp metallic claws. To make sure no ideas came to Gale, Wolfion opened his mouth. Or more precisely, the jaws expanded and Wolfion's head was seemingly replaced by a giant cannon ready to blow the guy's head right off his shoulders.

On the next floor

While they were still not completely torn up from all the punching, Arthur's knuckles could only barely be considered knuckles anymore. But he still didn't stop the mad assault aimed at the door. And then he felt something approaching, a shape which he subconsciously recognized as the man who is responsible for everything, Jardsam Shinoda also known as Vincent Vincentsson. And if he is the one who's responsible for it all and the one who kidnapped the girls, then killing him will be able to unlock the door, right? Arthur was incapable of double checking his logic as he was was still in the state of instinct based auto-pilot, but at least he changed his target to something which he can actually harm. He launched himself towards Jardsam, extending his wings to the side and making the pointy ends on the bottom of each wing extend into spikes to rip into Jardsam's body and hold him in place while Arthur cut him to pieces with two giant swords.

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

Jardsam reacted quickly, rotating himself around Arthur until he was above the frozen angel and launched a spinning kick into the nape of his neck, temporarily cutting the flow of magic within Arthur's body send sending him hurtling onto the platform below.

Looking down from his vantage point, Jardsam admired his four opponents, and devised a plan. Bending the glass staircases around him, he broke them apart into individual steps and launched the slabs of glass down at his targets below.

-=-

Pinned under the wolf, Gale laughed as Alexis swung an axe into Coleen's gut, pinning her to the ground as the russian daughter of Jardsam raised a strange grenade and detonated it, ending Matt's transformation with a wave of blue energy as Cale head butted the blonde, pushing him out of his way and getting to his feet to attack Lincent.

@SamJaz: @ChronoWolf:

Lincent didn't leave Cale the chance to attack. As soon as Matt's transformation ended he swung his Chainsword, slashing it down onto Cale's side who was still in the process of getting up.

Crown on the other hand was faced with bricks of glass. Not exactly a challenge. He quickly blinked through the projectiles and launched a storm of cards at Jardsam.

@SamJaz: @Fehafare:

Arthur didn't even reach the platform before his magic returned. He spun in the air and propelled himself up in the air again, towards Jardsam. Instinctively, he used ice shards to shoot down any glass projectiles in his way and kept on flying. As he got closer to Jardsam, the cards mostly missed him, though they left gaping holes in his wings. By the time his wings were no longer usable, he was right in front of Jardsam, who could see the burning rage in Arthur's eyes. It didn't matter that he was about to fall, all that mattered was that he grabbed for Jardsam's suit, attempted headbutting him and pulling him down towards the platform.

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

There was an almighty crash as Jardsam and Arthur collided against the glass platform. Quickly, Jardsam pushed Arthur aside, slamming him into a large glass step that had embedded itself into the ground, only to receive a knee to the face from SamJaz.

"AERIAL SUPPORT!" SamJaz shouted at Crown as he cast a healing spell at Arthur and Kelly began to arrange the glass steps into walls to prevent Jardsam's escape.

@SamJaz: @ChronoWolf:

Crown didn't have to be told twice. He flew up into the air, starting a rain of Cutting Cards.

He did his best to not actually hit Sam or Arthur, but realizing that it would be hard to do so during the chaos of combat, he blinked appearing behind Jardsam.

A Red Rose that turned into a sword appeared in his hand.

Crown pushed forward while slicing at Jardsam's exposed back.

@SamJaz: @Fehafare:

Arthur got up fully healed though it wouldn't matter if he was healed or bleeding all over. He attacked Jardsam with a sword in each hand. One horizontal slash and the other diagonal, combined with Phantoms vertical slash there was no escape for Jardsam wherever he ran. He would get cut up.

Matt was knocked away but not for long. While Lincent attacked Gale, Matt turned into Galantus. He was going to help Linc and hoped that Cole can take Alexis. After all, Matt himself can't hit a girl.

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

SamJaz's strikes were blocked, but Arthur and Crown's sword slashes truck home. SamJaz quickly kicked Jardsam's weapon aside and kicked him down the corridor, past Crown.

Jardsam staggered again, reaching for the sword in his back, only to get booted in the chest again. Landing on the floor, Jardsam skidded onto the large Crown sigil, then got to his feet.

"FINISH HIM!" SamJaz shouted, charging down the corridor with Kelly towards their father.

@SamJaz: @Fehafare:

Arthur was already charging towards Jardsam with a beastly roar. His swords disappeared and three walls of ice formed around Jardsam along with a roof like wall above him. There was only one way in and out of the almost completely sealed ice box and that way lead straight into a berserking Arthur's hands.

The hands would do minimal work if Jardsam was cought however. Instead, six long icy appendages quite similar to spider legs that were coming from his back would penetrate Jardsam. They would knock him to the floor where Arthur would punch him in the face and the appendages would attack Jardsam until finally all six of them stick inside him and tear him apart, into six pieces.

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

All of Arthur's fury, however, failed to even draw blood from Jardsam, but it did keep him down on the crown sigil as SamJaz jumped onto it and shattered the glass, opening the way to the floor below.

FLOOR -76

This floor was… unlike any other.

It was an open air cathedral made from grey stone that was floating in the air. The team couldn't see below the purple clouds, but they could see the roots of a massive tree with twenty-one roots above their heads. For every three roots, there was a throne, and in the distance, in the purple sky, one could see constellations that were not of this earth.

Quite literally, there were lines connecting stars to form patterns, representing the warrior, the mage, the thief, the dragon, and various other symbolisms that could have been deemed appropriate at this time.

In the centre of it all was a large zero formed of black flame. Blue and red energy pulsated out of it, and Jardsam pushed Arthur aside and began to approach it, only for a beam of light to pass through it, ending the blue and red energy and leaving only a floating trail of ash around the rim.

Jardsam turned his attention to see SamJaz, holding the key blade towards where the hole in reality once was.

Behind him the corpse of Dorothy, dressed in a black and gold gown, stained red from the wound on her neck.

"You broke free of Oblivion and ended the rite by killing a Princess before I could return and divide by Zero…" Jardsam realised. "I'm not even mad. That's amazing."

SamJaz exchanged a keychain on his key blade, reverting it into the axe form as Kelly dropped into the open-air chapel. There was several ravines, staircases, warped architecture and the occasional red carpet throughout the cathedral, and a warm wind blew throughout the entire structure.

"Well, you win kids." Jardsam announced, turning around and heading for the stairs. "You got me, looks like it's back to the old drawing board for good old dad." Jardsam froze. "Which year was it that I gave you kids Skyrim, was that 1998 or 2001?"

"You aren't going anywhere." SamJaz told him, slowly approaching his father. "This ends here."

"Oh, but I couldn't possibly ruin Christmas for you kids!" Jardsam replied jovially as a black axe appeared in his hand and dust began to swirl around him. "COME ON!!" He shouted, tearing huge chunks of stone into the air and hurling them at Arthur, Samjaz and Kelly.

@Fehafare: @SamJaz:

He did not attain his goal, but he did express his rage and that was enough to calm Arthur. By the time they landed on the next floor, Arthur cooled down completely. He managed to observe his surroundings. That tree... It must be what Loveline was talking about. Wait, is that Dorothy? Didn't she... Duh, paradox clone. So this must be the real one. Or must have been, since Sam just killed her.

Arthur sort of forgot about what made him angry in the first place and it was only after Jardsam finished his taunts that he remembered.

"Wait! Sam, there's no time for this. The princesses are in danger!" He yelled as he jumped over, under and between the flying stones, but not moving an inch away from Sam.

@SamJaz: @ChronoWolf:

The new floor was many things, but certainly not normal. Then again Crown got used to it by now, especially with Jardsam around, the last few floors have been a strange limbo of physics as far as he was concerned. This was 76, which meant there was only one left beyond this, whatever happened this would end soon.

There wasn't much to do, Jardsam was still there and so was everyone else.

Combat was the only option once more.

With his sword still in hand he blinked above Jardsam, swooping down on him in a straight line the red sword ready to split his head in half like a watermelon.

Post by SamJaz (12,602 posts) See mini bio Level 20

@Fehafare: @ChronoWolf:

SamJaz scooped stone out of the air with golden strands of Collision spells. "You're right Arthur." SamJaz said. "There is no time. Everything is in danger. But I trust Matt, Hitomi and Coleen to complete their mission."

Dust started to swirl around Jardsam's hand, the particles increasing speed as they orbited closer and closer, pressing tighter and building heat before flaring into a celestial furnace. Jardsam threw the first sun, scorching through the stone and building in size as Jardsam turned around and punched Phantom into the future.

But, SamJaz was ready, grabbing Aleister with a collision spell and dragging him back to the Now, and his red sword struck true, slicing through Jardsam, but drawing no blood.

Kelly tackled her father, but he rolled and launched her to another platform before drawing a pistol and firing a bullet into Aleister's head.

@Fehafare: @SamJaz:

Arthur was worried. What if they kill the girls or something before those above can do anything? Nah, they can do it. Of course they can. They spent a large part of this expedition fighting shoulder to shoulder and Arthur knew their capabilities. Really, there's nothing to be worried about. And besides, Jardsam is here. He's priority number one. So Arthur did the only sensible thing.

He punched Sam in the face and took the keyblade, wings already forming on his back. "Sorry Sam, but you can take care of your family problems on your own, right?" He was already in the air and flying towards the sealed door by the time he finished that sentence. There was only one problem with the idiot mages plan. How does the keyblade work?

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

Holding his Jaw, SamJaz was defenceless as was caught in the blast of a sun head on.

His body endured, but he screamed.

He was not absorbing this fire like he normally was.

He was burning and unable to die as his flesh began to turn into iron.

Only his back was visible to Arthur as SamJaz's flesh was consumed.

He burned.

@SamJaz: @ChronoWolf:

And in a single blink of an eye, stuff went downhill. Crown had to think fast, though he wasn't exactly sure what was going on. Jardsam had launched an attack at the team. Arthur had punched Sam and ran away Keyblade in hand. The first idea was that he was being mind controlled, but his body language and the fact that he went for the sealed door said otherwise. Sam had taken then full impact of the sun, burning his body, the heat and light coming from him made it nearly impossible for Crown to even recognize his friend's form in the flames. The situation was falling apart. There was Kelly but Crown couldn't see her right now and there was no time to coordinate anyway.

He created a Pink Rose. It's petals flew off towards Sam. They would change his body. The flames would disappear and the burns would become slower and the bones, flesh and skin became restored. At the end of the process he'd look exactly like he looked before the sun consumed him. Taking care of that Crown blinked towards Arthur, grabbing him by the shoulder mid air. He was visible angry, with his teeth grinding against each other and his fist clenched tight and pulled back, ready to deliver a strong hit to Arthur's face. But the anger disappears and his muscles relax when he opens his mouth. "I'd punch you right now, but fighting each other is the last thing we need in this situation." Crown blinked both himself and Arthur back to the site where he left Sam.

He was determined to end this.

@Fehafare: @SamJaz:

SamJaz regenerated, flicking a few splinters of iron onto the ground from his chin before glaring at Arthur. Despite Phantom's healing magic, there was still some metallic scar tissue above SamJaz's left eye, but he could life with it.

Quickly, he changed Persona to Wobbajack, and absorbed the next ball of fire that came their way.

"FAG!" SamJaz shouted, summoning the key blade back into his hand and transforming it into the axe form and separating it into the sword and axe, charging at Jardsam who simply twisted the ground in front of him into a corkscrew, but SamJaz kept running, despite the offence to gravity, so Jardsam raised a finger and plasted a particle of dust through an ultra-powerful electromagnetic spiral, piercing SamJaz's chest and hurtling towards Arthur and Aleister.

@SamJaz: @Fehafare:

"Nononononono, no, we have to go back. The girls are in danger. What if something happens? What if Clare dies? What if you she dies and you didn't do anything to stop it?" Arthur needed to get back and he needed to get through that door. And if Phantom blinks him back constantly, then it's a waste of energy. So he needs to strike where it hurts. He needs to make Phantom want them to go there. And what better way to do so then to bring up the possibility of Clare in danger?

And then a dust particle blasted through him, probably hitting a major organ or something along the way. At least, that's what the pain would indicate. Nothing a quick healing spell won't fix. And Sam can have one too.

@ChronoWolf: @Fehafare:

SamJaz coughed up blood, healing himself as Jardsam sped past him and punched the injured Arthur in the face.

And then Arthur was gone.

-=-

TWO WEEKS EARLIER

-=-

Arthur skidded across the stone to see Jardsam position a throne between three large roots. "Oh, hello." Jardsam said, hopping down from the stepladder and casually approaching Arthur. "You must've been punched in the face by my future self. I do love it when that happens," He added, bending over to offer Arthur a hand up to his feet. "Al sorts of hijinks must have been going down five seconds ago, eh? Especially if you were in this room."

=-=

TWO WEEKS LATER

=-=

Arthur was gone.

This time, there was no Mechanicus or Coleen to brine him back.

Kelly spread her vectors wide, ready to defend Crown and SamJaz as they got into position to avenge the Frost Wolf.
