Ponyo

The Sci-Fi Wire reports on some information about the English dub cast for Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo on a Cliff by the Sea, hitting US theaters on August 14th.  An official cast list has never, as far as I can tell, been officially announced, although a Craig's List ad purported a cast list that GhibliWorld was able to partially confirm and generally seems to have come to be true.

Since we never made a “hey, look at the awesome cast!” post here, I thought I'd go ahead and go for it. Here's they are:

• Noah Lindsey Cyrus (yes, Miley Cyrus' little sister) – Ponyo
• Frankie Jonas (yes, of the Jonas Brothers) – Sosuke
• Liam Neeson – Fujimoto, Ponyo's dad
• Tina Fey – Risa (re-christened “Lisa”), Sosuke's mom
• Cate Blanchett – Granmamare (Sosuke's grandmother, natch)
• Matt Damon – Koichi, Sosuke's dad

Cloris Leachman, Btty White, and Lily Tomlin also have unspecified roles in the flick.

What say you? Pretty star-studded, eh?
