The Straw Hat crew may be in heavy training for their journey to come, but as it turns out. Everyone else is taking a a long break, readers included.

Rumors have been flooding the internet and One Piece communities all over -- but with the release of this week's issue of Shonen Jump No. 38 in Japan -- It's no rumor! It's been confirmed as fact, and this could have an effect on the series forever. After the release of One Piece Ch. 597 this week, One Piece and the series creator/artist Eiichiro Oda is going on a four week break. NoOne Piece chapters are to be expected until Shonen Jump No. 43. For a series that has been on a near nonstop run for thirteen years. It's a well deserved break.
It isn't just this gap in the release schedule that makes this so big. What is to be expected either in Ch. 598 or very soon is a TWO YEAR time gap in story. Big for any tale, but about par for the course of the Shonen line. I've just been wondering what this gap could mean in the future. AfterDragon Ball had a time gap, it had another one after the World's Martial-Arts Tournament, and the series became Dragon Ball Z. Though, the Naruto manga kept the series name after it's time skip. The anime became known as Naruto Shippuden. Currently, theOne Piece manga is at 59 volumes, and the crew hasn't even reached the second half of the Grand Line called the New World. When Luffy and the crew returns, could the series be renamed into something different? Even if the manga doesn't change names. When the anime reaches this point, could it become "One Piece:New World"?
