It's a total of 88 as of December 31, 2011. For me, it was gradual (the most unusual spike came in the Spring when ShadowKnight508, DestinyHeroKnight, NewDeath, and Superevil225 followed me on the same day. Strange huh?) in my first year at Anime Vice.

Funny as I have 88 people following me as well. Although, you probably have been here longer than me and are more popular.
